Picture this: You are laying out at the beach enjoying the sun, the sound of children’s laughter surrounding you. You’ve been at the beach now for a couple of hours, spending some time in the relaxing waves and taking walks along the shore. Now that you have a nice sun kissed glow to your skin and are relaxed from the warmth of the sun you decide it is time to leave. You pack up all your belongings and get to your car and look down and you are covered in sand. No matter how hard you try to wash it off or try to keep from bringing it home inevitably the sand has clung to your body like a life line.
Product: So what do you do to leave this memory of the beach where it belongs, at the beach? Sand Gone is the answer. Sand Gone is a dry body powder that, when applied to sand covered skin, removes the sand and leaves the skin soft and smooth while feeling fresh and clean.
Sand Gone was created by a mother of two children who has spent countless days with her family at the beach. This means a lot of sand was coming home with her.
History: After years of cleaning sandy children, she discovered a little trick to remove sand without using water. After a few more years of improving the ingredients, she perfected an all natural, non-toxic powder.
Living in sunny South Florida a weekend trip to the beach is often on our list of things to accomplish. This is just what we did this past weekend, Buddy of course wanted to try out his brand new skim board he got for his birthday. So we packed up the car and heading down for some sun and surf. Sadly I did forget to bring both my camera and my sand gone with me. In the future I will be keeping it in my beach bag. I had to wait until we returned home to give this product a try. Here are a few photos I was able to snap before we began our test. Thank you to my son Nick who brought half of the beach home with him and agreed to help me test.
Testing: I broke out the sand gone and began dusting him from head to toe, ok maybe just his arms and legs. The majority of the sand came off, all the sand that was light and just a dusting over the skin disappeared. The sand that was matted on like glue from his attempt at washing it off before we left did not come off in its entirety. It did dry it up some and it was easier to brush off with a towel after wards. I also used it on myself and all the sand disappeared. I believe this was because I did not try to introduce water to the mix like my son. The best part of this powder is the smell. I love, love, love the smell of it. I love baby powder but this smell is even better. The smell leaves you feeling like you did indeed just leave the beach or a tropical paradise. It is heavenly, for that alone I love this!
Opinion: This product works if you use it correctly on a dry body. My recommendation is to continue to shower when you leave the beach to remove hard sticky sand. Dry off, and use the sand gone as an additional step in removing remaining sand before you head home. You will enjoy the heavenly scent!
Note that my biggest draw to this product is the smell I do believe the same effect can be had with baby powder. It did not quite work as well as we had originally hoped.
This product is also good for more then just a beach, just think sand. This would be a great product to have on hand if you visit the playground, or have a sand table in your backyard.
