Happy Birthday To My Beautiful Princess!

Happy Birthday Honey!
I hope you enjoy my special blog design in honor of Honey, she helped me design it herself and was excited that my blog now has a princess theme if only for a week. This week is for Honey and her love of princesses!

My precious baby girl turned 5 today! I can not believe it has been 5 years since the first time I saw her tiny little face. Honey was born Tuesday, November 1st, at 7:55 AM. She weighed in at 8 lbs 3 ozs (the smallest of my three children) and was 19 1/2 inches long. She was born via planned c-section due to her brothers arriving the same way.

In so many ways I can not believe it has been 5 years and she is a year away from kindergarten. However many times when I talk with her I can’t believe she is only 5, she is as smart as a whip and picks up on things so quickly.

Ericka, named after her grandfather, was a pleasant surprise in our lives. Having always wanted a daughter I was reluctant to make matters permanent after our two boys. We never really decided two kids was the plan but it was kind of understanding that was not really discussed. So when we were blessed with this little one it was quite a surprise, but a happy one for sure.

With the arrival of my little girl I unexpectedly began to like pink, ruffles, and pretty dresses. Little did I know that for the first couple years of her life it would be a waste. She started taking after her brothers loving the dirt, bugs, and wrestling. Slowly though she has begun to turn around and barbies and princesses now out shine the dirt and bugs.

My daughter comes with me everywhere. If I leave the house it is rare that she is not by my side. The best part is I LOVE it. A time or two I have grocery shopped without her because she was napping or didn’t want to come and I felt lost. Like I was riding solo, without my best friend. She keeps me company during my outings and I miss her when she is not with me.

It is amazing how fast she has grown up, how intelligent she is becoming always asking how to spell things, how to draw things. She loves to do math and guess the sounds of letters. She is so independent. She asked me once to make her toast. I told her she would have to wait. Instead of waiting she got her stool got the bread and put it into the toaster herself. I am so proud of what a strong and independent little girl she is becoming.
It won’t be long until she is asking for her own phone like the boys, and telling me tales of gossip and boys from school. For now I am going to relish in the innocent years and not think to hard of what is to come. My daughter lights up my life each and every day and I think the heavens (and my stepfather) for the unexpected gift that was given to me during a time of loss.

To my brilliant, gorgeous, well mannered, fun loving, little girl I wish you the happiest 5 year birthday!

What a beautiful daughter you have! She has the biggest, bluest eyes I've ever seen! I have a little lump in my throat after reading your post. My little girl is now 26 and you are right, the years go by much too fast.

There were some rough years, (the teens) but we are now best friends again.

I'm following back from the creepy crawl. Thanks for stopping by and following me!

    Peace and Blessings,
