Threadless.com is not your normal t-shirt company. In fact, it isn’t anything close to one, it is more. I did not realize this when I first got the chance to do a review for Threadless, however like all my reviews, I try to take the time to get to know the company and convey to you my loyal readers my own opinions and thoughts.
Threadless is more then a place to purchase a t-shirt it is a community of designers and artist. The t-shirts are designed by people just like you and I. What gets printed on a t-shirt is also decided by people like you and I. Anyone can submit a t-shirt designed using a template and complying with some rules regarding the designs. The designs are then scored by the public. So not only can you have a chance of designing a t-shirt you have the opportunity to take part in the printing of one as well.
As a creative person myself I commend this company for the commitment to budding artist. What a great way for someone unknown in the art world to get a start. How cool it would be to see people walking around with your design on their t-shirt.
Threadless.com is more about putting art on a t-shirt versus a logo or slogan. Threadless has a forum where artist and members can chat, get tips, or ask for their work to be critiqued before they submit to Threadless for consideration. It is so much more then a company it is a community. I took the time to watch a video created about how Threadless began and it just seems like such a unique and fun place to work. I wish I was brave enough, had the time, and creative enough to submit my own design.
We were given the chance to review our own t-shirt of choice from Threadless. I admit it took me some time to find a shirt I felt was something myself or my boys would wear. Many of the shirts were a little abstract for me. Unfortunately I also had a hard time finding a shirt available in a size that I wanted. My final choice ended up being a shirt for my oldest son. I really wanted to get this shirt in pink for Honey, but miss opinionated said she would not wear it. Trust me when this girl doesn’t like something it never leaves her drawer (like a pair of shoes I need to take back from Christmas).
This is a size 12 shirt, the sizes seem to run a little small, and I’m not sure how it will fair in the wash yet. It is a very light material not heavy at all. My son loved the saying “So far, This is the oldest I’ve ever been.” The shirt came in a few different colors which is nice depending on gender and personal style. This particular shirt also came in adult and child.
Threadless shirts are on average from $5-$20 per shirt. You can pick up a Threadless coupon through 3tailer.com. In addition to their t-shirt line they also have hoodies, pull overs, and a few different styled tops. Threadless shirts come in sizes ranging from babies to men.
Pros: My biggest love of this site is that you are support budding artist by purchasing a shirt, there are several designs to chose from, sizes range from babies to adults, prices are good $5-$20 for a shirt, shipping is acceptable at the lowest shipping cost of $4.99.
Cons: Sizes run a little small, t-shirt quality could be a little better, however at $5 the quality is comparable with the price.
