I raced home yesterday afternoon to get in another 25 minutes with Hell! In between getting pizza and getting ready for the soccer game. For some reason my family feels it needs to eat more then once a week. Seriously what is wrong with these people? I try not to cook during nights we we have actual games, too much going on. I’m lucky I was able to squeeze in some exercise. I still have intentions of trying to do them in the morning but I actually enjoy doing them when I get home, gives me some energy to get through the rest of the night.
I have noticed since I started focusing on getting back on track with the exercise the healthy eating has fallen back into place. It is funny how it all comes together when you put your focus where it needs to be. Which is not on the weight loss but on the healthy habits you are trying to create. One thing I love about doing the exercises is that my daughter is seeing me do them, and growing up knowing that exercise is good. I did have to correct her the other day as she mentioned I was exercising to lose weight. I told her that I don’t exercise to lose weight though it does help me lose weight. I explained to her that everyone should exercise. She said even Daddy? Buddy? Nick? I said yes but you know what you, Bud, and Nick do exercise. When you run around and play and are moving all day, that is exercise and is good for you. As you grow older and become an adult and go to work sometimes you don’t move as much. I told her that I sit at a desk most of the day and I don’t get to move my body. I do exercise to help get my body moving, to work my muscles and explained that the moving around is great for the heart. Seems like a big conversation to have with a 4 almost 5 year old but one thing that is very important to me is teaching my daughter good self body image, good eating habits, and good hygenie.
I want my daughter to grow up thinking exercise is normal and should be done regularly, that she eats to fuel her body and to fill her body with vitamins, and that she should take care of her skin, hair, and teeth. She loves to wash her face with me at night and I think letting her do things like this beside me will help reinforce the habits for her as she gets older. Ok so this progress report turned into how I’m teaching my daughter so let me just say, I got through day 3 of the Shred, it was still a little tough mainly in the breathing department but I felt so good when I was done and the workouts aren’t so terrible that I can’t walk the next day so that is a plus. That coupled with the situps is really starting to help me feel a little more fit. I notice as I go about my daily activites my tummy feels a little tighter and I just feel overall a little more in shape.
Hope you have a Wonderful Thursday!
