So another truth…………..
I did indeed win a coloring contest at McDonald’s when I was in first grade. I was just talking with my mother in law the other day how they no longer seem to have these type contest. I guess “coloring” is no longer the favorite past time of children. I remember when I was young contest like these everywhere.
This contest was a Halloween contest. We each received the same picture to color. It was actually my babysitter that brought home the pictures for everyone. We colored them and submitted them back to McDonald’s, with our ages included. I was selected as the winner. I received a huge pumpkin, or at least at that age I remember thinking it was huge, and a prize pack that I DO NOT remember what was in it.
What I do remember is that they took a picture of me and the babysitters family and put it up with the colored picture as the winner. I remember at the time thinking that I HATED the picture was of me and the babysitters family instead of me and my mother. That of course is a little girl just wishing her mom was there. As a mother myself having to leave my children at daycare and babysitters I in no way shape or form hold anything against my mother for not being there (I LOVE YOU MOM!). We have to do what we have to do for our children. It of course was just part of the memory of the occasion that I seemed to obtain.
As you can see by my first two reveals I LOVED entering creative contest. I love to draw, though I think I was better at it when I was young, and love to be creative, hence my ever changing blog design. I won a few poster contest at school and a “create your own flavor” ice cream for an ice cream parlor. At the time my creation was Smores ice cream. I have no idea if it was a flavor back then but my creation was vanilla ice cream, with marshmallows, chocolate, and graham cracker.
Now we are down to 2 Truths and 1 Lie. Can you find the Lie?
