When I first met my husband many moons ago we were both young, active, and full of energy. To work of some of this energy we would often go to the gym. We found out after we met that we both belonged to the same gym, we just each visited separate facilities and never bumped into each other. Once we started dating we also started going to the gym together. This was a great way to work together at a common goal, staying in shape.
Through the years our gym workout has gone through many changes. Once we had kids it became difficult for us to continue to go to the gym together. So one of us would stay home with the baby while the other one would go to the gym and vice versa. Then the kids got older and we were able to spend time together but no longer at the gym. Instead we could be found by the baseball, football, or soccer fields.
Now that most of those days are behind us with my boys now 19 and 16 it is time for us to get back to the days when we go to the gym together. This is why we are now memberships of Youfit and are working on getting back in shape and hopefully we will lose some weight at the same time.
What if your weight keeps you from what you love most, your significant other. That is exactly what happens in the new show Altar’d. Of course this is a choice by both parties. Altar’d separates soon-to-be-married couples for 90 days as they each complete their wedding weight loss transformation, guided by the hosts and fitness experts, Chris Marhefka and Erin Stutland. Their journeys are both inspiring and emotional as they get ready to reveal themselves to each other on their wedding day.
I would not want to be away from my husband for 90 days but the thrill of working with coaches to lose weight and then getting to reveal myself when it is all over to my love sounds exciting. My husband and I enjoy watching shows that resonate with what is going on in our lives. For example when we were trying to purchase a home we watched a lot of home improvement shows. Now that we are more focused on losing weight I see weight loss shows in our future like Altar’d that airs Tuesday’s at 8pm and what a great way to connect with my hubby this Valentine’s Day.
