After many years Disney creates a sequel to the beloved and praised movie Bambi. I was definitely intrigued to see if this movie lives up to its predecessor. My children are not familiar with the original Bambi so their opinions are not bias in anyway having nothing to compare it too.
Bambi, one of the silver screen’s most cherished characters, makes his triumphant return. The eagerly awaited next chapter of Bambi’s unforgettable story continues for a whole new generation in a film that’s sure to delight your entire family. Join Bambi as he reunites with his father, the Great Prince, who must now raise the young fawn and teach him the ways of the forest. But in the adventure of a lifetime, the proud parent discovers that there is much that he can learn from his spirited young son. Thumper, Flower, Owl, and your favorite characters return – and you’ll meet some wonderful new friends – as Bambi’s magnificent legacy continues. Illustrated in the breathtaking animation style of the original classic and bursting with new songs, Bambi II is truly a wonder to behold.
Though I must admit Bambi II is not the original I found it heart warming and entertaining. It could have possibly be the delight in my daughters face who LOVES animals. I felt that the relationship of the father and Bambi is mirrored in many father/son relationships. My boys were not all to interested in the movie so this ended up being a movie for Honey and I. I believe the movie is geared for younger children and why we enjoyed it together. The animation and color was remarkable and it amazes me sometimes how far technology has come. Despite the difficulty of following up such a classic I think Disney did a decent job. I recommend adding this film to your Disney collection.
