The best advantage to being part of the Brookstone Review Crew is getting the opportunity to review new unique and fun products. Something Brookstone is definitely a leader in. Have you ever visited a Brookstone store? I could get lost in their trying out all the fun gadgets like this uAstro Massage Chair.
Recently I was sent a new exclusive product from Brookstone just recently released. We were sent the Bed Fan with Wireless Remote from Brookstone. Living in South Florida trying to stay cool is a way of life. When your air conditioner goes out it is a BIG DEAL. Sometimes stepping outside takes your breath away, literally because of the humidity. My husband and I thankfully seem to have the same body thermometer and agree at keeping our thermostat at 78 degrees. For many this is warm but for us it is perfect.
When we sleep at night we sleep with the ceiling fan on. No open windows, it is too hot. When I heard about the Bed Fan with Wireless Remote I thought this might be the perfect gadget to keep us cool during the sleeping hours.
Bed Fan: a better way to cool off at night!
Kicking the sheets to the end of the bed? Try Bed Fan. It tucks between the top and bottom sheets to cool your body—the source of the heat—instead of the entire house. More effective and efficient than traditional cooling methods, which only affect the air outside the sheets, you can turn off the AC and save on cooling costs. Bed Fan disperses built-up body heat with a cool, refreshing breeze between the sheets.
The bed fan is extremely easy to assemble, just snap together a few parts, insert the batteries into the remote and you are ready to go!
The fan is adjustable to fit the height of any bed. We put the fan in the middle of our king size bed. It is in between the foot board and bed and the bed fan is set to blow in between the bottom and top sheet. I had to do a little under the bed rearranging as it is important that the air flow is not restricted. The cord is extremely long so you can reach an outlet from anywhere in the room. To adjust the height of the fan you simply slide the outer piece up and down and clip it when you get to the correct height. The only problem we had was keeping the filter on. For some reason it wouldn’t click into place. However we got the fan positioned and re-checked the filter to make sure it was in place. The bed fan is all but invisible, your sheets and blankets tuck around the fan and you don’t even notice it is there. If you do have a bed skirt on your bed you will need to make sure it is not in front of the filter. We had to tuck the portion of the skirt in front of the bed fan up under the mattress.
To turn on the bed fan you simple press the remote button. To turn it off you do the same. The remote illuminates while the fan is on so you can easily see the remote in the dark should you care to turn it off. I was not aware until reading the website (because I skipped reading the manual) that you can adjust the flow of the fan by turning the remote button. Genius!
Bed Fan’s wireless remote sits on the nightstand for easy-to-reach adjusting.
Powered by 2 AA batteries (not included), the wireless remote is backlit upon touch so you can see it as you adjust it at night. It controls the powerful dual fans that move up to 680 feet of air a minute dispersing built-up body heat under the sheets. You’ll sleep comfortably all night long as the the Bed Fan blows a refreshing breeze. If you wake up too warm, simply adjust the fan with the wireless remote. Twist the top to increase or decrease the fan’s intensity. With the remote at your bedside, you can adjust it without getting out of the covers—helping you get back to sleep faster.
I love the bed fan. I love the light breeze that flows through the bedsheets. I also am the type of person that needs covers when I sleep. I sleep with a sheet, blanket, and bedspread so I often get hot. My husband on the other hand rarely sleeps with covers and only keeps his feet under the sheets. This product turns out to be something more suited for me then my husband. The first night he said his feet were cold. (This was before I realized you could turn down the fan flow). To be fair he is 6 foot 1 and his feet pretty much reach the end of the bed. What I’ve decided to do is move the bed fan to my side, I think that will solve the cold feet issue.
I only have one suggestion regarding this product and that is the product should come with the option of a second remote or you should have the ability to purchase a second one. Since I’m going to be the only one using it, this will no longer be needed. However for a couple that enjoy the fan together I think a remote on each night stand would be great. That way if someone wakes up and decides they want to turn it off they don’t have to reach across their partner to get to the remote.
Overall I love the product and think it is unique and is great if you get hot or stuffy at night. The breeze doesn’t make you cold it just gives you the feeling of laying on a beach on a shady day with a light breeze at your feet.
I’m excited to give you the chance to win your very own Bed Fan with Wireless Remote from Brookstone to cool you down during the late hours.
