It’s been a while since I’ve had one of these to post but thought I would share because it touched my heart so.
I was having a meaningful conversation with my daughter because she has been getting a little to big for her bridges, just trying to state her independence of course. Refusing things she normally had no problem doing. As with most conversations with my children when my point is across and I feel we have talked and said what we needed to I usually try to bring the conversation to humor or something off subject.
Honey brought up something about her friend not talking to her much at her birthday party Saturday. I told her that her friend was probably so excited that it was her birthday and with all the other kids around she just didn’t have time to talk to just one person and was easily distracted. However I was telling her that this was her best friend and not to worry.
Honey said, I actually have one other best friend that is better. I was quite surprised because this little girl has been her best friend for a few years and I thought maybe I didn’t know this new girl because I don’t get to take her and pick her up from school anymore so I asked her who it was.
She said, (get ready to cry ladies) “It is you mommy you are really my best friend!”
