Name one child that doesn’t enjoy visiting the Build-A-Bear Workshop? What better gift for Valentine’s Day then a Love Bear or Love Bug made with your love especially for the recipient. Visiting the Build-A-Bear Workshop is a fun and enjoyable experience.
My mother-in-law and I took Honey to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in our local mall just this past week to help us get in the spirit for Valentine’s Day and share our fun with you. When we first entered the store we were greeted by a very friendly employee who welcomed us and asked if we were there for a special occasion. We shock our heads and said, “No occasion, just here to make a bear.” The display in the front is so enticing. I LOVE the Build-A-Bear Workshop and always marveled at how the kids were able to pick just one outfit. Isn’t this the cutest Valentine’s Day display?
Though Honey thought the lady bugs and bears were cute lately she has been all about the bunnies! As we scanned the many cute and adorable animals to chose from she kept coming back to the front of the line to the brown bunny with pink ears. She selected her animal and the employee asked her how to spell her name which she whispered softly to him. Honey is extremely shy around people she does not know. With bunny in hand we made our way to the stuffing station where the same employee took my daughter through the routine of stuffing and warming the heart. I must say the employee we encountered made our visit ever more enjoyable. He was just full of energy and joy it was quite contagious.
Once Honey painfully got through the stuffing of the bunny, warming the heart, making her wish and filling it with love she moved on to the washing station which she seemed to enjoy much more since the employee went on to help the next customer. For a little girl that can talk your ear off her shyness makes me laugh.
I expected after the bath to spend hours trying to find the perfect outfit. I was quite surprised when Honey knew right away which outfit she wanted I couldn’t even talk her into looking around and viewing her many options. I guess the Valentine’s Day spirit was already a float in her little mind as she picked out the cutest pink angel dress for her bunny. She of course insisted she dress her by herself so her grandmother and I stood back and took pictures.
I couldn’t talk her into any shoes for her bunny which is quite surprising since she is so fond of them herself. When I told her to pick out something extra to go with her outfit I was not at all shocked to see she picked a cute sparkly pink purse. I guess in addition to it’s wings an angel does need the hottest fashion in handbags! Once Honey finished dressing her bunny we moved over to the station to fill out the birth information so she could print her birth certificate.
This was probably the longest station for us just because my little girl is very independent and wanted to fill out the entire form by herself. I couldn’t have been more pleased with her attitude to “do it by herself!” So I dutifully sat back and told her how to spell everything for the form. So with that said meet the newest addition to Shibley Smiles!
|Honey (the Bunny)|
Honey (the Bunny), yes my daughter named her bunny Honey. Let’s just say things can get quite confusing around our house when you ask where Honey is!
Overall I have not one negative thing to say about our trip to the Build-A-Bear Workshop. The employee was beyond helpful and energetic and really enjoyed walking us through the process. Though Honey put up her wall and was a little shy I know in my heart she had the best time making her new friend. Even better right now through February 14th you will receive a box of Sweethearts candy with any purchase! Also this February you have the option to donate $1 at checkout to help support the Children’s Heart Foundation.
Some of the cool features about the Build-A-Bear Workshop are, it’s awesome virtual world Bulid-A-Bearville where you can register the animal you made in a fun interactive game and take care of it. You can also join their Facebook page to stay up to date on the most current promotions and receive exclusive offers. Something I didn’t know is that the Build-A-Bear Workshop even has an iPhone app so you can get updates delivered right to your phone.
Anyway you cut it the Build-A-Bear Workshop is fun, unique, and a great place to take your kids to enjoy the experience of making their very own stuffed animal, and a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
