If your child hasn’t started back to school yet my guess is be next week (after Labor Day) they will. My children have been in school one week now. We already have reading logs to fill out, homework to check, books to purchase, and projects to begin. Yes one week in and we are in full blown school mode. I was recently sent a Canon PIXMA 6320 printer to help me with some of my back to school needs from book reports to photo projects.

In addition to the printer I was asked to give the Comix Facebook App a test drive. Loving all things creative and knowing that Honey already had some fun homework assignments this fit into our plans perfectly. Honey was asked to write about what she did over the summer. Now one thing about Honey, unlike my boys, she loves to go above and beyond on all her homework and projects and this one was no different. So I showed her the funand we got started.
Comix Facebook App
The Comix Facebook App is a fun way to create photo projects, invitations, arts and crafts and more. The first step is to upload up to 6 photos you would like to use in your project. For our project, Summer Vacation 2013, we decided to do a storyboard to accompany my daughters written statement about her vacation.
The next step is to decide on what comic strip layout you would like to use for your project.
Next insert your photos into the pre-cut comic strip spaces and decide if you would like a filter. You can chose a filter for each photo. For our project Honey did not want any of the filters on her photos. We played around with it but in the end decided against any though the comic strip filter is pretty cool and I can see using it on some projects in the future.
The last step in creating your comic strip like project is to add bubbles and text. This was where we had a fun time and it really added to our project.
Everything uses a drag and drop feature and is very user friendly. When you have completed your project you have several options. You can download, share (via Facebook), Tweet, or print. Since I was testing out not only the Comix Facebook App but also the Canon PIXMA 6320 printer we decided to go right to the printer for this fun back to school project.
Of course before we got to this point I had to set up the printer. Or I should say I just had to hit a few buttons, the printer pretty much did most of the work. Once plugged in the Canon PIXMA 6320 printer will take you through several steps. The first thing it does is make sure you removed all the tape from packaging (which I did not). It will show you on the screen how to insert the 6 ink cartridges. Once you have inserted paper into one of two paper trays it will clean and test itself to make sure everything is working properly.
When the printer was ready I printed right from the Comix Facebook App to the printer. When I did this I was immediately created with a special savings code just for using the app.
Who doesn’t love a good savings? Anyway as our project was printing out I couldn’t help but immediately notice the outstanding quality of our photo. We have four printers in the home and this one by far exceeds the other three when it comes to print quality. In fact, I was so impressed I had to show my husband. This is definitely easily going to become our main go to printer. Here is a snap shot of our back to school storyboard project.
