I recently posted about a little “me” time that included a scrumptious treat that included the new Del Monte Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. If you missed it let me show you a little peek of the heavenly treat. It was really simple to make just a little bit of warmed up peaches on top of some french vanilla ice cream with a little extra brown sugar sprinkled on top. YUM!
However a sweet treat at home is not the only place for DelMonte Peaches with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar to be enjoyed. It is a great snack to grab when you are running out the door or need a little something sweet to keep you going.
One thing I’ve been struggling with this year is how to keep my daughter eating healthy now that she is out of the day care setting. See at her daycare they were really good about giving her fruits and veggies with every meal. Though she loves fruits and veggies I’m afraid the temptation of the junk food and other foods you can get at school will become too much. I want to make sure she continues to eat as well as she has the first six years of her life. The easy part of me is she doesn’t really like to purchase school lunch so we make her lunch at home and she “brown bags” it to school. With the ease of the small containers the #DelMonte Peaches are a great addition to her daily meal.
They are also good for a quick breakfast snack before she hits school if we choose to add something different to her lunch that day. I’m not a very traditional eater when it comes to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sometimes my kids will mix them up eating macaroni and cheese for breakfast and waffles for dinner. I love to line my pantry and refrigerator with easy to grab snacks such as the Del Monte fruit cups. In fact my husband takes the pineapple cups each day to work with him to eat as a snack.
I remember a few years ago a mother extremely surprised when I pulled out a cup of green beans and peaches for Honey to eat as a snack during a football practice at 8 am. She looked at me shocked asking if that was what my daughter was going to eat. I told her yes that is what she wanted to bring as a snack even at the early hour. She looked at her own son and said “Look she is eating her fruits and vegetables even at 8 AM!”. So for quite some time know we have used the fruit cups as an easy “go to snack” when we are traveling from one game to the next.
Let’s not count the boys out, I will admit they don’t eat nearly as well as Honey does. I hate to play the blame game because really I should have been more in tuned when they were young. However the day care they attended at the time feed them a lot of chicken nuggets, corn dogs, etc. So to this day that tends to be what they prefer to eat. I was young and really didn’t think much of it or I would have refused the daycare lunches and packed my own. I remember a time with Nick use to love CORN!
The DelMonte Peaches are a good snack that I can sometimes get him to eat when that is all that I brought (see that little trick-sorry this is all that I have). They are great to grab on the way to a sporting event or even on our way out to run our weekend errands. We can always sit and enjoy a small snack before we go into a store, they are quick and easy and fit nicely in my purse.
