One thing I’ve learned in the past couple years is to expand my mind and be open to knew ideas. I use to think a computer was only a computer if it was one name, and one name only. Since that thought things have changed. I’ve experienced products that have surprised me and brands I never thought were as good as others. Our family was recently introduced to the ENVY 20 TouchSmart AiO and I can’t tell you how “cool” it is. For lack of a better word.
The only two in the family that know of this little gem is my husband and I. That is because we are saving the surprise for the kids as it will be displayed under the Christmas tree. This beauty will be a gift for the kids and can I say this mama is jealous. Don’t get me wrong I have a perfectly great computer and I wouldn’t give it up. However I just love new gadgets and the ENVY 20 TouchSmart AiO has a lot of really neat features and I especially love the touch screen.
The 20-inch monitor is the perfect size neither too big or too small. The touchscreen is very responsive and beautiful. I love that you can customize the colors and how your screen looks. I selected a red to test drive but the kids will get to decide what they want (just hope they can agree!).
Both the mouse and keyboard connect wirelessly. I love this feature because it means less wires. In fact the only wire is the one from the computer to the outlet. No speakers, no keyboard, mouse, or other wires needed. I also love that the computer/monitor is all in one (hence the name AiO). This really helps when trying to find a place to put it. No more tower just a beautiful and vibrant monitor with the computer built right in.
In addition to the beauty of the ENVY 20 TouchSmart AiO computer it is also extremely functionally and is preloaded with many apps. It seems our computers, tablets, and phones are all getting to the point where they can be interchanged. I love that you can download apps, many of them free. With the touchscreen the possibility for games is endless, without the need for a mouse you can do so much more.
My kids love to Skype with their grandmother but sometimes it is hard in the living room with the TV blaring. Now with the built in TrueVision webcam they can now Skype without the interruption. You can also take photos and videos. With those photos you can then use the HP Creative Studio to create some cool projects. My oldest son is getting family with Photoshop in school and enjoying the creativity. So this will be right up his alley.
You can even hook up the ENVY 20 TouchSmart to your TV. I personally have not given this a try but it is an awesome feature to have. With the quick speed it was easy for me to search the web to find some fun holiday desserts for when the family comes over for Christmas dinner. I haven’t quite decided what I want to bake yet. I think I will let Honey help me decide.
What I think would be super fun would be to put the computer under the tree as we plan and have it all set up and running. Then before the kids come out we can turn on the video camera and tape the whole “surprise”. How awesome and fun would that be? We had fun one time when the kids got phones for Christmas. We activated them and wrapped them then called them so they would ring. It actually took them a few minutes to understand what was going on.
Overall I can’t wait for the kids to play around with the computer and find even more features!
On another note I had to tell you that the Envy 120 Printer (which I’m currently giving away here at Shibley Smiles) was recently featured on the Rachel Ray show. Not only that but it was part of a huge surprise.
The ENVY 120 printer, the holiday value pack, and www.hp.com/holiday were all featured on the Rachael Ray show as part of a special segment where she and Regis Philbin surprised an audience of Hurricane Sandy victims with an early holiday present that included the ENVY 120, a SpaFinder gift card, and a gift card from The Container Store.

In edition to the computer we also received the HP Portable Bluetooth Speaker. I have a couple of these around the house and absolutely LOVE them. It is great to sync them up to the computer or my phone and listen to my own play list. The speaker really amplifies the music like a stereo. In fact with the speaker you really have no need for a stereo. This one is going to my youngest son as both myself and my oldest son have our own.
I look forward to sharing these fun products with my kids and getting their reaction!
