It seems you can never be to old to enjoy Chuck E. Cheese’s. Yes I am one of those adults that still loves taking my children to Chuck E. Cheese. Part of it is because it is the ONLY place on earth (to my knowledge) where you can still play games for a quarter. If you purchase tokens in larger lots then the games end up being 20 cents instead.
This Saturday the family and I were originally going to head down to Billie Swamp Safari however when we realized it was a good two hours away we decided to for go (despite my children’s pleas) and go to Chuck E. Cheese instead. We ended up going for an early dinner. Honey had not been feeling very good at the beginning of the day but seemed to snap out of it around one. You couldn’t tell here that she wasn’t feeling well!
We ordered a large pizza, some drinks, and my favorite the french fries. The food seemed to be more for us old farts because the kids barely stopped long enough to eat more than a piece. We had 180 tokens to split among the five of us with the kids of course getting the majority. I spent time walking around with Honey as she played the games. Ski ball was definitely her favorite. The goal of the day….who could get the most tickets. Nick ended up being the winner with a help from a friend. A game did not give him his tickets so an employee gave him a ticket receipt that was for 364.
Part of the reason we were invited to Chuck E. Cheese was to try out their new pizza.
For the first time since the company began entertaining families more than 30 years ago, Chuck E. Cheese’s has completely upgraded its pizza recipe! The new pizza features fresh, never-frozen dough, a crispier crust, fresh vegetables and 100-percent natural mozzarella cheese, freshly grated in Chuck E. Cheese’s kitchens every day. Together, these ingredients make a “much-kneaded” recipe for a cheesier, crispier, tastier version of the childhood favorite – no matter how you slice it!
While the original recipe was loved by many families and even took a spot in the nation’s top seven pizza brands in a study by Brand Keys, Chuck E. Cheese’s saw “mushroom for improvement” and formulated the new recipe to accommodate the changing tastes of parents and children alike. By replacing the former blend of frozen cheeses with freshly grated, 100-percent mozzarella and ensuring the freshness of the crust, Chuck E. Cheese’s has redefined the flavor of family fun with a consistently great-tasting pizza.
If you want the truth, which of course I always give, I never thought there was anything wrong with their pizza in the first place. If I had to say which I preferred the answer would be the original. Not that the pizza was bad by any means and I am definitely not a pizza person, however I just don’t think there was a need to change the recipe. However I don’t think overall you would feel let down or dislike the pizza, it was still good.
