This past week in South Florida has been full of wacky weather. It will be bright and sunny out and then the clouds open and the rain just pours down on us unsuspecting souls. However due to this phenomenon our skies have also been filled with beautiful sites. It is no secret both here at Shibley Smiles, at work, and at home that I am an avid rainbow lover. I will stop whatever I’m doing to snap a pick of what I consider one of God’s greatest gifts.
This week I was driving to work and drove though a rain storm that was a bright as any sunny day could be. It only took me a few seconds to spot my prize. I did snap this photo while driving but just so everyone knows I just put my phone to the window and started snapping with my eyes forward on the road. I didn’t see it at the time but if you look closely you can see the double rainbow in the upper left corner of the photo.
When I was sitting at the next stop light and uploading to Instagram to share with everyone I got a text from my husband who was at work. He too was looking at the same rainbow, and knowing my love for them, snapped a beautiful photo. What I love about this photo is it almost looks like gold underneath it. What it really is, is wrapping around loads of pavers and the sun is shining off of it to give it the effect of gold. Again you can just barely see that double rainbow in the left hand corner.
On a total different day this week my co-worker was driving into work and while it was pouring in our area it was sunny and raining in hers. She snapped a photo as best as she could (since she was driving) and sent me a text message. As I said, everyone knows I love a rainbow. Turns out the car in this photo happened to be another co-worker. She said the photo didn’t give the rainbow justice at all as it was much pretty in person. Upon further inspection you can make out another double rainbow this time in the right of the photo.
