The Lion King was definitely one of Disney’s best movies, at least in my book. Disney is releasing The Lion King 3D on September 16th in the theaters for a limited time. Shortly there after you can find it on DVD and Blu-ray beginning October 4th.
To get ready for the theater release the kids and I had a “Lion King” party. I really enjoy small things like this that get all the kids involved, I have such a great time spending it with the children. To start off our party Honey and I made a Bug Buffet (click to download instructions). For this masterpiece you need: celery, peanut butter, and raisins. It is rather simple and as you can see no directions are really needed.
Honey decided to stick with coloring and colored these two pages from our Lion King 3D packet. You can download all the coloring pages yourself : Lion King Coloring Pages.
Our Lion King 3D packet also included some instructions on how to draw Timon and Pumbaa. After recently talking about how I use to draw many moons ago, I figured this would be a perfect time to see if I still have the touch. (You can click on the photos below to get your own how-to-draw-timon-and-pumbaa instruction sheets)
I’m thinking not too shabby. It really makes me want to pick up a pencil and paper more often. In fact if I could just quit work all together and draw, blog, and design invitations and cards from home while the kids were in school I would be pretty darn happy! Not that I’m not happy now I am, it would just be nice to work from home and do something I really love!
After our drawing party we moved on to the musical entertainment. With a little help from our Lion King 3D packet we were able to make an instrument for each of the kids to play in our “Shibley Sibling Band”
Here’s a little taste of the Shibley Sibling Band
