I mentioned earlier this week that today, New Year’s Eve, is my hubby’s birthday. It is the inspiration behind my temporary blog design and my way of showing him that he is just as important as those kiddos. It seems a lot of time they tend to over shadow him.
So a little background on me and the hubby. I met him in September of 1995 at work. My friend tried to set up a date with him which he was unable to go to because he had to work that weekend. Little did I know that same friend set up a date for later on in that week without my knowledge. Thankfully she told me THAT night and I spent the rest of the day shopping and trying to figure out what to wear. Oh when the decision we had to make were so much easier.
We were pretty much together from then on out. Three kids and a marriage later with many ups and downs as many couples have, today I would say we are stronger then we have ever been. We were married in May 1998 at my mom’s home in Georgia (just days before she moved to Florida). It was a beautiful backyard wedding. After the day of gray skies it seemed the sun made an appearance just in time for our short ceremony.
Today despite his unhappiness of the date of his birthday my hubby celebrates his 4….oh who cares right? He is 29 at heart. I hope that he enjoys the day, I try very hard to make it special. Honey purchased some very special presents for him that will touch his heart. She had been begging me all day last week to go shopping for him so we took a trip to the dollar store. I figured she would have a fun time buying daddy some cute knick knacks.
She purchased a frame that she wanted him to put on his desk at work, so we picked out two photos of the three kids (her suggestion she wanted all three in the photo) and she couldn’t contain her excitement and gave it to him so he could put it on his desk early. She also got him a toy mustang car (because Daddy has a mustang), a loud clapping hand (to get the boys attention when they misbehave), some incense (he loves incense and she picked out cherry and rose), and some baseball and football cards because he love sports. I think at the end of the day he will see how thoughtful she was in picking out his gifts.
Happy Birthday My Love!!
