Surprisingly hubby and I ended up with no kids Saturday night which is an extreme rarity with three of them usually running about. Nick actually began his breaking out of jail Friday evening when we spent the night with a friend. He didn’t get to sleep until 3 in the morning but then had to be up at 8am for a car wash hosted by the safety patrol at his school.
Honey had a planned sleepover at Grandma’s and I think Buddy was so bored without Nick he asked to go too. So I packed them both up and dropped them off Saturday to spend time with their grandma. Nick already had plans to bunk with another friend Saturday evening so after making him come home a little early from the first friend (which he was not happy about) to finish up a book report, he took off to his house.
As much as it is nice to have some alone time I miss my children dearly when they are gone the house is way to quiet and unnatural. I did sleep until 9am Sunday morning because things were so quite. Of course that was after a long night at the computer. I was transferring a new blog design for Lucas’s Journey with Sensory Processing Disorder that I had just finished.
The day was great, hubby and I did a little shopping. He doesn’t do that often but I so enjoy it when he comes with me. It is nice just to talk and joke with each other. The rest of the weekend was full of trying to pick up a little around the house and get some work done. Unfortunately I have some budgets that were due today at the latest that I had no choice but to work on over the weekend. But thankfully for me it is a short week so as much as I hate for work to push into my personal time I know that I have only three days and then four glorious days off!
I would like to spend a little time this week being thankful. Of course the number one thing that I’m thankful for of course is my loving family. My wonderful mother that is always there for me and did such a wonderful job raising both me and my sister. I’m thankful for my sister and am so proud of what a success she has become as both a mother and a restaurant owner (Outback). I’m thankful for both my stepfather and father who were not with us nearly long enough but were both a HUGE part of my life, and only wish my children could have known them both better. I am MOST thankful for my husband and three beautiful, intelligent, and loving children that make each and everyday worth living for.
Happy Thanksgiving Week To All!
