Champions for Kids makes it simple to give children in local communities the resources they need to thrive. Imagine what you can do for children in your local community by simply shopping at Walmart. My husband and I shop at Walmart every weekend and love the fact that I can do more with my money than just feeding my family. Helping others does not have to come in large doses. Champions for Kids seeks to ignite generational change by fostering a ‘habit of giving’ among youth and parents in America.
Did you know that 10 percent of U.S.children live in food insecure homes? That’s millions of children who don’t know when, or if, their next meal is coming. This is especially true during the summer months when school meal programs are no longer in effect. This is not okay. Not in a country where so many have so much –and are willing to share it. That’s where YOU come in. Champions for Kids is about harnessing the power of people. People like you who are willing to help make sure kids don’t go hungry this summer.Champions for Kids has inspired us so much that we wanted to explore more ways to get involved with community projects at the Twitter party and through blog posts!
Some additional ways you can give back this summer is take part in a Simple Service Project.
Every SIMPLE Service Project has 4 basic steps:
- GATHER your friends, family, and co-workers.
- LEARN about the needs of children in your community.
- GIVE items to help kids enjoy happier & healthier lives.
- SHARE your story with us to inspire others.
Check out some of the amazing stories by those that have shared their projects. For example the Nickelodeon Big Help Book Drive
Gather your friends, family, and co-workers by hosting a Nickelodeon Big Help Book Drive!
