MOGO Charm Bracelets, could be the fad of the year. At first I thought these sound kind of neat but after receiving them I love them. The colors are so vibrant and the charms are beautiful. It is a fun twist on a traditional charm bracelet. No dangling charms on this arm just some BLING!
I thought the bracelet was going to be for my daughter but it turned out my son thought they were cool as well. He especially loved the yin yang charm that came with one of our sets. We received two sets of charms and two charm bands to review.
Buddy received the blue band and two of the charms and the rest will show up in a little girls stocking at Christmas. Shh! don’t tell. The magnetic charms secure pretty well to the bracelet but that doesn’t mean you can climb trees and put it through the ringer and expect the charms to remain in place. Buddy unfortunately has already lost his yin yang charm during gym at school. I would definitely keep this in mind when purchasing. We actually love them so much I plan on buying an extra set or two for Christmas.
I was really impressed with the quality of the band and the versatile way that it can clasps so that you can shorten the band without loosing the look. On each end of the charm band there is a little elastic hook. This hook can be stretched to meet a number of metal disc on the bracelet to make it smaller and larger. The metal disc is where you place each magnetic charm.
When I was browsing the site for additional sets I happened upon the story of how MOGO began and found it touching:
It all started with rescue animals. I grew up on a horse ranch and my Dad was always rescuing horses from the “auction” house and bringing them home.
The actual idea for MOGO came from my work with rescue horses on a farm in Woodinville, Washington. I was trying to fix horse blankets and had an idea that I could use magnets to replace the worn out velcro. That idea didn’t work out so well, BUT… it did lead me to the idea of magnets as charms for a new and different modern charm bracelet!
The name MOGO is in memory of my childhood pony who was rescued and given to me by my father when I was 9 years old. In recognition of my first pony MOGO, and all the wonderful animals in the world, MOGO supports a shelter animal each month, supporting vet care and socialization support until the animal is ready to be adopted.
Our MOGO tagline, “We just click!” is all about the connections MOGO creates. Friends who just click with each other, Moms and Grandmas who click with their Tweens, even Tweens who just click with animals. And, of course, the charms themselves which “just click” to the charmbands.
MOGO says thank you to all the cute kids and animals in the world; you’ve given us every great idea we”ve ever had! We hope you love MOGO.
It is so hard to only chose a couple sets of charms they are all so cute. I love the idea of switching out your charms based on your mood or what you are wearing that day.
I have no doubt that my daughter is going to absolutely love her bracelet when she sees it, now for the tough part picking out a few extra sets to go with the ones she already has.
