I mentioned on Friday that I have been doing some soul searching about some things. Because of this I had a really nice weekend. Basically one of the things I needed to re-evaluate was my time and thoughts spent on my blog. I have been pushing myself so much to really get my blog out there that sometimes I would skip going to the grocery store which would then effect my weight loss efforts. Or I would stay up until 1am trying to get all that I wanted to get done and then just be so tired the next day.
My conclusion is that I need to set some limits and change my mind set about my blog. You see if my “stats” dropped I would just get so upset and think to myself I’m not working hard enough. The “stats” are what drives the reviews and giveaways, which is a big part of what I enjoy about the blogging. Or I should say 50%. The other 50% is connecting with some great people and posting things about my life and family. So I’ve basically decided that what I need to do is set some limits as to what kind of time I’m willing to spend and then be ok with whatever happens because of it. I actually feel really good with this decision and hope that in the end I will feel more balanced.
As my reader you may not even notice any change and I’m hoping not, but one thing I’ve decided is my blog may take on my personality which is unstructured. I have a few things I have been trying to post on a weekly basis that I found myself stressing about when I didn’t have anything or the time to post. Mainly “Kids Say”, and “Saturday Scrap It” So instead of these being a weekly event I’m just gong to use them as I see fit. I will continue to do many of my weekly meme’s such as Tone it Up Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday, and Thursday Tell All. So like I said you probably won’t even notice any different hopefully I will just be in the correct state of mind and have my priorities where they need to be.
Now on to some of the fun of my weekend. Saturday was a VERY LONG day it began at 5:15 AM when me and Honey got up and drove over to my mother’s house to help her with her garage sale for a few hours. Honey had a great time and really was a good helper, she helped sort some clothes and bring some boxes out to the drive way. At 8:30 we went home to get the boys ready for our “Shibley Sports” day. Buddy had a soccer game at 10:15. I actually managed to bring my camera today and got a good photo of him in his WAY TOO large uniform. I guess that is what happens when you are tiny and are playing with kids up to the age of 16.
Unfortunately the team lost the game 3-2. I was unable to see the second half because I had to hurry Nick over to the baseball field for photos (or so we were told). After dropping Nick off we raced back to pick up Buddy, grabbed some lunch from Wendy’s and went back to the baseball field. Turns out the coach was mixed up in his dates and the photos are not until next weekend. Ah…but before I talk about this weekend’s game I should mention they planned on Thursday and won that game 18-4, which was a relief after losing the past two games.
Saturday’s game was one of the BEST game these kids played they all looked like real baseball players. Thunder (our team) was playing the team in 1st place so it was a very close game with low scoring which means not only was the pitching on par the fielding was exactly on both sides. I’m happy to say Thunder beat the team 6-5 putting them now in a tie for 1st place. Nick played excellently making many plays at 1st base. He had some great hits, which has improved a lot this season compared to season’s in the past and I’m proud to say he made the winning run! I took some photos of the team as this team of boys is just awesome. They all get along so great and it is wonderful to see the commradery. I have blurred out the faces of the other children as I did not try to get permission from their parents to post, but this is one of my favorite shots of Nick and his team.
I had fun with the camera taking photos of everyone so I wanted to include a few more, because you can never have too many photos. I took this great one of Honey in all her glory having a great time and even got Buddy to half smile for a photo.
I love spending the weekends with my kids, running them around to where ever they need to go. Sunday however is my day to veg, lately though I’ve had to do my grocery shopping on Sunday which sucks but it is the price I pay for wanting to give my kids the choice to play sports, go to friends, and have fun. I would say it is a small price!
Here’s to a great well balanced week ahead!
