Have you ever gone to the grocery store and at check out you realize the unthinkable? You forgot your wallet at home. I know this has never happened to my husband because he would never forget his wallet but it has happened to me a time or two. Usually I’m brainstorming trying to figure out if there is anything I have a credit card, a check, to pay for my groceries. With Mustbin a new iPhone/iPad App this situation would be fixed in the matter of a few finger snipes.
Mustbin is a free secure organizer for an individual’s must-have, most vital information, such as paper documents stored in file cabinets at home, in a safe or safety deposit box, at the office, or with a spouse, friend, attorney or financial advisor. The app features a simple, but powerful mobile user experience that makes it easy to capture vital information for important areas of an individual’s life.
The app is free so I decided to see what I could do with it. I decided for the ease of setup to download it to my iPad. You must first setup an account. During setup you will be asked for a password. This is for security purposes so others can not get into your vital information.
With your account setup you have the option to fill your wallet or photos. Since for me my primary reason for downloading this app was to have a wallet “backup” so to speak. I decided to start with Wallet. When doing so you can select guide so that the app will guide you through the setup of each feature.
I went ahead and set up my Driver’s License, a credit card, and a rewards card though as you can see there are several additional options from insurance cards, social security cards, passports and more.
The inspiration for the app came from a friend of the founder who lost all valuable documents like home deeds, insurance policies, birth certificates, etc. in Superstorm Sandy.
Most individuals have more and more vital information that increasingly is spread across numerous physical locations – file cabinets at home, in a safe or safety deposit box, at the office, or with a spouse, friend, attorney or financial advisor – and is hard to find. Mustbin was designed around a central idea: How can individuals organize all their information and be prepared for when they need it?
Have you ever lost your wallet? Unfortunately I have been in that situation. In fact it took me years to replace the social security cards that I had in the wallet. The first thing you do of course is close your credit card accounts so that if someone should find the wallet they won’t go on a little shopping spree. Mustbin has a friendly reminder and tips tool if you happen to get in this very situation.
Many people love to share their photos but are not comfortable with traditional social media or sending files over the internet or phone. With the Mustbin app you can share your photos securely with other members of Mustbin. Only those people you share your photos with will be able to access them.
All bins are stored in the cloud and synchronized across devices. You can even securely share with family, friends, or advisors. Mustbin features robust Bincryption™ technology that provides bin-level encryption, AES-256 encryption on every file and end-to-end encryption during cloud sync.
I was concerned about someone picking up my phone and being able to access all my vital information. So I decided to test it out by closing the app. I didn’t go in and do any extra steps I simply hit the home button so the app would “close”. I was afraid that you would have to do a hard close to get the security feature to work but I was happy to see that anytime you get out of the app you are prompted to put in your password before you can enter the app.
After adding all my information on my iPad I downloaded the app on my iPhone. I logged in and sure enough all my information was available on my iPhone. Mustbin is a great way to record all your vital information in one place should you lose or misplace anything. In addition to the suggested information you can add text, pdf’s, or any time of document that you feel is important. All of it is at your finger tips!
You can download the Mustbin App in iTunes.
