This little league season has been one of many surprises. After a very rocky start losing game after game our Yankees began to show improvement. They began working together and looked like a real team.
A stroke of bad luck for me had the first play off game being played last Saturday while I was out of town in Pensacola attending Brandcation 2012. I was disappointed I would not be there to cheer him and the team on. However my husband was there to do just that and recount the game blow by blow. The game ended up going into an extra inning tied only 3-3. Guess who hit in the home winning run? That would be MY NICK! Also know sometimes as “Lefty” (I’m sure you can guess why)
Yesterday we played our second play off game. This game I was fortunate to be able to attend. I was a little worried we were going to be rained out however the weather was perfect! The game was exciting (to our team at least) with some great plays, awesome pitching, and even a home run sent over the fence which is not seen often in little league. In the end the game was stopped due to the mercy rule after the 4th inning with a score of 15-1 in our favor of course.
Do you know what this means? This means Saturday we will be playing against one more team for the title. We made it to the Championship or our little World Series. I’m so excited, the boys have played so well. We will of course be up against another great team so it promises to be an exciting game.
