A few weeks ago I mentioned that I would be reviewing the MYTRAK Health System. The purpose of the MYTRAK is to help you achieve your weight loss or lifestyle goals by “Going Green”, which means your goal is to get your circle to glow green each day.
I tried this out for just under a week. The reason why it was just under a week is because I’ve misplaced or lost the MYTRAK. The last time I had it on was when we attending the pre-screening of Cars 2. It is very possible that it came off during the movie or sometime afterwards.
I was able to sync up my MYTRAK before I misplaced it. Here is a sample of some of the reports I’m able to run.
In my brief use of the MYTRAK Health System what I enjoyed most was the reports that show how many miles or steps I took. In order to get more out of the system for example my calorie balance I would have had to input my food intake. Having been down that road before and not having the necessary time to log my food daily I did not chose to do so.
Here is a quick video on how the MYTRAK works:
I did not chose to input a weight loss goal but instead an activity goal. I don’t really know that I got enough information in the short time I had the MYTRAK but my honest opinion is this would be an item that would eventual collect dust in a drawer somewhere. The hardest thing for me as a woman is that the MYTRAK is suppose to be worn on your hip. The second day I was to wear the MYTRAK I had on a dress therefore I was unable to wear it.
Shibley Smiles Opinions:
Price: The price of the MYTRAK is $99.95 and includes a year membership. We at Shibley Smiles find this price to be average and the same price you would find other items similar to this product to be.
Quality: If you enjoy tracking your progress and need the visual reminder then this item is for you. The quality of the item is adequate in that it did not break or seem inferior in anyway.
Recommendation: Our personal recommendation is this is not an item that we would purchase should we be given the opportunity. Though we can see the benefit of the tracking purpose we also believe their are other tools out there that can achieve the same goal. However we realize there is a market for a product that encompasses weight loss and activity in one device. However you must understand this is simply a tracking device and the weight loss you will lose is still based on your own activity and calorie intake.
