My daughter LOVES all crafts, beading, painting, coloring, etc. If it involves being creative and crafty then count her in. With father’s day approaching Honey and I headed down to the craft store to pick out a few fun crafts for her to do for her father. See every holiday she makes things and gives them as gifts. It is one of the best presents we receive. She makes a holiday extra special. This year she decorated a football, painted a grand slam canvas and her favorite was painting this bobble head doggie.
Her father LOVED the dog, the two of them have a love for dogs so the craft was a perfect choice. Honey was beaming when her dad told her he was going to take his doggie to work and put it on his desk next to the picture of her.
While we were shopping we came across a small selection of paint-by-numbers kits. I use to love these when I was young so Honey and I picked out a set for us to work on together. We sat down Saturday and spent hours working on master pieces. Honey decided to give hers to her father. You know the “dog” thing and it was fathers day. I chose to do the dolphin and I gave it to Honey when I was done.
I have to say for a six year old I was amazed at how well my daughter did. These were not “child” paint my numbers. The only bad part was we didn’t get a good set of paints so we used the whole pack to paint the two boards.
We didn’t stop their, when my husband and I went on our weekly grocery shopping I picked up the same paint-by number kit because Honey really wanted to paint the dolphin. I also picked up a large velv-its package that included 30 posters. Those are the velvet like posters that you color with markers. Sunday afternoon the three kids and I sat down to color together. Honey, Nick, and I finished our poster. Buddy chose a bigger one and is going to work on it tomorrow with his sister.
