I will be very honest here. I don’t know that I’ve ever purchased biscuits or rolls that were not made by Pillsbury. Before I even had the chance to review Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits they were already a staple in our household. Especially the frozen package. Biscuits in our house is one of our breakfast go to’s. Especially for Buddy.
“Each 70-calorie biscuit is a delight when served hot from the oven, with a warm fluffy center and golden, flaky crust. Pillsbury® Grands!® Mini Biscuits are the perfect size for kids, or for mini sandwiches and appetizers. There are countless recipe options, from miniature ham sandwiches come lunchtime, to delicious sliders for nighttime entertaining. There are so many ways to make these biscuits and your family will love trying each one.”
What we love about the frozen package is that you can take out only what you need. We often bake two at a time. My son likes to eat them for breakfast with jelly. They go right from the freezer to the toaster oven. This is much easier and more efficient for us then purchasing the ones that come in the can and need to all be cooked once it is open.
Here is an absolutely yummy and unique way to use your Grands biscuits, and as you all know with me I’m always looking for healthy alternatives. As you can see here this receive calls for leaner meat and low sodium options.
1 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 (15-oz.) can spicy chili beans, undrained
1 package (1.25 oz) Old El Paso® 40% less-sodium taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup water
1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® refrigerated small buttermilk
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz) (I would opt for fat free cheese)
1/2 cup shredded lettuce, if desired
1/2 cup chopped tomato, if desired (or not desired in my case)
1/2 cup sour cream, if desired (low or fat free is what I would recommend)
1/2 cup Old El Paso® Salsa, if desired
And you can always add guacamole as a good fat alternative to the sour cream.
1 Serving (1 Taco Cup)
You’ll receive a Pillsbury® Grands!® Mini Biscuits prize pack which includes a VIP coupon good for a free package of biscuits, a $15 gift card to purchase your recipe creation/experimentation needs, a biscuit basket, a butter dish and spreader!
