Shopping is Even Easier with #AmazonCart

cbias1Warning: This post is going to make shopping even easier than it already is!

As if shopping could get any easier. These days we don’t even have to get out of our seat to shop. I know when it comes to Christmas I would say I do at least 75% if not more of my shopping online. More than 50% of that is done at Amazon.com. One of the features I love is Prime shipping. For an annual fee you can get 2 day FREE shipping on most items. Believe it or not this means I can get items faster than if I did physical shopping. Since I rarely shop on the weekdays most of my shopping is done on the weekends. However if I purchase something Monday on Amazon.com using my Prime membership I can have it at my door on Wednesday.

Amazon has just released a new feature that is going to take shopping to a whole new level. You can shop right from your twitter feed! If you see anything on twitter that has an amazon link you can use some simple magic and it will shop up in your cart. This means no more switching websites or writing down something you saw for reference later. In our world where social media dominates how people communicate this is a unique and innovative way for Amazon to jump on board. Wondering how you it works? I will explain below but you can also check out this How #AmazonCart Works Video.

How #AmazonCart Works

At first I thought it sounded complicated or like really that will work? However I quickly found out it is as easy as sending a tweet. First step is to make sure your twitter account is connected to your Amazon account. You can do this by visiting the Social Media Settings in your Amazon account. This is necessary so that your Amazon account will know which account is yours so it can add your items to your cart.

Now the fun begins! Simply use twitter as you would. If you find a tweet that has an Amazon link to a product you like, for example maybe you follow @Amazon or a blogger who posts awesome Amazon deals. When you see something you like you simply reply to the tweet with the hashtag #AmazonCart. Next time you sign in to your Amazon account the item will be in your cart. You still must go through the purchase process so don’t fear that replying to a tweet will automatically purchase the item.

To test out this awesome feature I browsed the Amazon Twitter feed. I first came upon something that I have always wanted but had no idea where to purchase it. A family friend use to have one of these and it is great. Especially useful if you cut onions and your hands smell like them and you can’t get rid of the smell.

When I saw this I hit the reply button and typed in a quick message (which isn’t even necessary but wanted to for the sake of someone following my feed) and the hashtag #AmazonCart. I quickly hopped on Amazon and saw my cart flip from 0 items to 1. This is going to be very dangerous to my wallet! I couldn’t resist continuing to look after all I had $50 to spend and use to test out this new fun way of shopping. Then I came across something that made me smile, made me smile big!

I absolutely love hammocks. Love the breeze in the air as you relax swinging back and forth. I decided to at least add it to my cart! We are getting ready to move and I can so picture this on our back porch.

Since the hammock was quite a lot higher than the $50 I planned on shopping with I mentioned my possible purchase to my husband. It wouldn’t have been his first choice but he said if you want to get it go for it. I consider this my last minute Mother’s Day gift. I told my daughter I was planning on getting it and she was so excited. So I went to my cart and sure enough it was there. After a few second thoughts I pushed the button and my Rub-Away and Hammock should be here in two days!

Thank you #cbias for this fun and amazing campaign. I never would have really considered buying a hammock can’t wait for it’s delivery.

I think that this is an easy way to shop and all I do is tweet the item and it goes into my shopping cart. I will have to remember this!
