You may have heard me mention only a hundred times that Honey turned 5 last Monday. I was waiting for the final party to be over to post some pics of her exciting events. This princess ended up with two parties. This was the first year I decided to throw her a “friends” party. In the past it was pretty much just a family gathering.
WARNING! MANY PHOTOS TO FOLLOW!
Her first party was for family, since we were all together on Halloween for our annual pumpkin party the day before her actual birthday we decided to go ahead and celebrate it then. Before the party Honey and I got decked out in our Halloween shirts and painted our nails orange. Her finger nails my toenails.
The pumpkin party was nice, relaxing, and we had great weather. I made cupcakes for the party which was not nearly as relaxing an experience as the party but it is over with now and lets just say I decided to go with a birthday cake for her “friends” party. Do you know cupcakes don’t taste so great when an ingredient is missing? Go figure!
Honey scored big time at her party, with presents from grandma’s, mom & dad, and aunt Shay. She got a princess scooter from her aunt Shay which she had been asking for. Her Grandma Connie got her an mp3 player which she listens too almost every night full of songs like Dynamite and Single Ladies to name a few. Grandma Dianne was the winner this year with the Bumble Bee Pillow Pet that I had tried to win on several blogs with no success. That seems to have been her favorite gift. From Mom & Dad Honey received many products of Mom’s blogging success. She received a pair of sneakers purchased with a gift card from Marshall’s. A beautiful bracelet that matches mine that you will see in an upcoming review. Thanks to a giveaway at Blommi’s she got the grand prize Squinkie pack that consisted of a 16 pack of squinkies, the large bubble gum machine, a small bubble gum machine, and a small crown with extra squinkies. Her large present was a Nintendo DS. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a giveaway for one of those.
As busy as that past weekend was, this weekend was no picnic either. We had soccer and baseball games on Saturday. I believe the soccer game ended in a tie 3-3, the baseball game, UGH, they were up the entire game until the last inning. We went into extra innings and the other team managed to score. Final score 8-9. Honey had her “friends” birthday party Sunday, she had three friends come over, two of which are her very best friends. I just loved watching them play together. We kicked off the party with a quick salon session in which I painted the girls nails and they chose little decals for their fingernails. (I totally didn’t think to get any photos of the multicolored nails.) Then we moved on to crafts. The girls (and my boys and one of the little girls brother) beaded some bracelets, made some sand necklaces, and decorated a pinwheel pencil. I was lucky to get them to all sit long enough to do the crafts. They dined on pizza (Honey’s OF COURSE with mushrooms ) and after opening a few presents ate some Publix vanilla cake. Honey added two barbies and a doll to her birthday loot!.
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
