It may be a little strange but I’m definitely not going to discourage it. My daughter loves to work on math problems in her spare time. I’ve never seen a child that yearns to learn like my little Honey. I found her one day writing down math problems on a sheet of paper and then solving them. At school they are working on problems using the numbers 0-5 however I believe Honey just doesn’t find that challenging enough. She wants to be able to easily add the higher numbers 6-9. So I found this great site for her and every couple of days I print off math worksheets. The site is SoftSchool.com this is a great tool for home schoolers. It has worksheets for math, science, writing, foreign language and more. I’ve book marked it because it is just such a wonderful tool if you happen to have a child like mine. Her favorite math work sheet is the Math Puzzles.
You can select work sheets based on grade. You can also tell it what numbers you want your child to work on. For example because I knew Honey wanted to challenge herself with higher numbers I asked for numbers 0-9.
I can’t wait to see how Honey develops and what she leans towards as she grows. My husband and I are both stronger in math. I use to shy away from english, writing, grammar, and especially spelling. Art was always another favorite of mine. I have always loved to draw and feel more balanced with a creative outlet.
Right now Honey seems to love it all, she is excelling at the reading and the math. It is so fun to watch our children grow into their own.

I liked doing math for fun too. 🙂 A worksheet like that would have been right up my alley. LOL
Good for Honey that she likes to learn. She seems to be very creative too, so she is going to be very well rounded.

That’s so awesome! Good for her! I struggled with math so much in school so this would have been a great resource!

Good for her! Every little bit of interest they have in learning will serve them well as they grow. We use to tell my son “take every bit of learning your teacher offers, think of it as a game” For the longest time he would come home with “what he learned from his teacher today” and he was always so proud. I imagine it makes honey feel proud when she does her “extra” math! Go Honey!

Thanks for the website information! You might want to consider teaching her to play chess. Those who love math usually love the same problem solving challenge that chess offers.
