One of my favorite side dishes and sometimes main meal is potatoes. I have always love potatoes, potato soup, loaded baked potato, french fries, sweet potatoes, any potatoes. Sometimes for dinner I will eat a baked potato with all the toppings. So when I heard that Ore-Ida (king of all things potato) had just come up with a new “grilling” potato called Ore-Ida Grillers I was excited! One of my favorite potatoes are my mothers grilled potatoes.
A spotted them in my local Publix and picked up a bag of each flavor, Golden Think Cut and Seasoned Think Cut. I can tell you before I even tried them I was going to favor the Seasoned Think Cut. I love to season my french fries with garlic salt and pepper so I knew these would appeal to me more. I decided that night to give this a try. I was already trying a new recipe Nakano Seasoned Roasted Garlic Vinegar and thought these would be a nice side. So I popped them right on the grill!
So there was only one “tiny” problem…most of the parts on my grill are recently replaced. This means the heat is intense and sometimes no matter how low I put the heat my food sometimes burns. Or maybe I’m just not the best “grill” chef. Totally not a potato issue but a chef issue. We were able to salvage some and I was right I definitely loved the Seasoned Thick Cut potatoes the best. I really love the idea of being able to throw these on the grill next to my steak or burgers and cut the whole meal in one shot!
I headed over to Ore-Ida.com to check out some other products and get a little information on the Ore-Ida Grillers and saw nothing but 5 stars after 5 stars and positive reviews of these yummy potatoes.
Of course tasting good is only half of the battle when trying to put together a meal for you family, while it is important it is also important that there is some nutritional value. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Ore-Ida Grillers seemed pretty balanced.
These are definitely something I would buy again and a perfect solution to a no mess meal. I encourage you to check Ore-Ida out on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/oreidapotatoes
So what is your favorite type of potato?
