Once the season has been reduced to the finalist is when I enjoy watching American Idol. Watching singers grow each week with the help of the coaches and mentors. This week episodes left me with a few favorites. However be warned that doesn’t mean they will remain my favorite. Towards the middle I usually end up with a solid favorite with more performances under their belts.
I was excited about Lauren Alania’s return to the stage for a performance. I love her album Wildflower. I just love her voice so rich and full. However I don’t feel her performance last night was the best. She almost sounded like she had a cold. She also played with the rhythm of the song a little bit. Compared to her performance last year on idol she has definitely come out of her shell and a much better performer and more confident. She was also beautiful.
I don’t know that he has the best voice but I really enjoy performances. I realized that last night when I watched my DVR’d episode aired March 7th. I really loved Phillip’s performance, something about his voice, how he gets into the music and really enjoys himself. I love that he is a musician as well as a singer. He had some cute smiles, kind of reminded me of Scotty McCreery (the smile not the voice)
Though I haven’t been a fan of his high voice in the past I did like Deandre’s performance this week. Very up beat I loved his rhythm and choice of song selection.
My top favorite of the night goes to Jessica who I already see has made the internet rounds with her beautiful rendition of what Randy said (and I agree) the toughest song in the world to sing!
