I’ve never owned a laminator but I have used one on occasion to laminate things like my social security card or some artwork for safe keeping. we received the Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator just in time for some back to school projects.
I knew immediately the first project to work on using our Fellowes Laminator. Each month I print off the school lunch schedules so each week we know what is being served in advance. With three children this means three different schedules. Three different opportunities to be spilled, torn, and thrown away. Since the menus deal with lunch I often keep them handy on top of the microwave or attached to the refrigerator. It never fails that one ends up getting ruined. So we decided this year to use our Fellowes Laminator to laminate our menus to protect them from such mishaps.
We fired up our Fellowes Laminator and immediately the blue cool light appeared. All you have to do is look at what weight your laminating paper is 3 mil, 4 mil, or 5 mil and press the corresponding button on the laminator. The wait button will flash green until it is warmed up and will become steady and signal with a sound when ready.
The Fellowes Laminator was so easy to use even a child could do it. Really, even a child. Honey will take you through the process from step one to the end. First you insert your page into the laminating paper, make sure it is even, close the laminating paper, and smooth it out.
The first thing I noticed as the laminator warms up is you can smell the heat. However the machine itself was not hot at all. It was very cool to the touch which is great with kids around.
Once you are all ready you align your paper, according to the guide and size, and feed it into the Fellowes Laminator. Once it catches you can let go and watch the paper come out on the other side. The instructions mentioned the end product may be warm and to set it aside too cool. However we did not find it to be warm at all.
We also decided for the first time this year to make a badge for Honey to carry in her backpack with important information. She pretty much knows all the information but you never know when it might come in handy.
Right now through the August 25th Shibley smiles readers will receive a $30 discount if you purchase your Fellows Laminator at Staples.com using code: code 87298

I’m dying to get a laminator to laminate my girls’ artwork. That way I won’t have to worry about them ripping and I can bind them into books.
