This year is the KING of back to school years for the Shibley. This year each of the Shibley children will be advancing into a new school. What does this mean for mom? This means all new school clothes must be purchased for each of the children.
Honey will be going into her first year of formal school and will need school uniforms. This is a change from her usual jeans, shorts, and t-shirts.
Nick will be moving from elementary school in which he wore uniforms into middle school where they are required to wear collared shirts and zippered pants. Unfortunate for me but fortunate for him his older brother is SMALLER then him and can not lavish him with hand me downs.
Buddy is moving from middle school to high school where the dress code is more relaxed then middle school. He wants to rid himself of the collared shirts and move to t-shirts. He grew enough to enter into the next size in jeans which means once again a new wardrobe must be purchased.
Thankfully JCPenney’s has come to my rescue with some Back to School shopping support. We received a gift card to help us put a dent into our list of needed clothing for the school year. When shopping day came Buddy was the one willing to go with me to JCPenney’s which means he was the one to reap the awesome sales and great deals we encountered while we were there.
Buddy and I set off for a little one on one time with each other. As many parents of teenagers know this is not an easy task to accomplish. We started with a trip to the salon to get his hair cut, however the wait was over a half an hour so we ditched that idea in exchange for some mall food and shopping. We stopped first at the food court and then made our ways through the excited teenagers and stressed out moms to JCPenney’s.
Now my son is not what you would call a shopper, he is mainly a buyer. This looks good, lets get this, lets go home type of guy. He was a little impatient with me buy made it through the hour and a half of shopping.
Due to a friendly shopper who gave us some coupons that saved me $25 when we were done we still had a nice chunk of change left. So we went home and we came back the next day reluctantly on his part with Nick. He too is not a shopper. However this boy knows what he likes, between the two boys Nick is more of a “latest fashion” type of guy.
Check out our JCPenney score below
Pictured here is: a pair of ZooYork shoes (on sale for $39.99), 2 South Pole Shorts (clearance $10.60 each), 2 belts (buyone get one 1/2 off), a pair of South Pole Jeans (clearance $13.90), a pair of Burnside shorts (on sale $14.99), 2 Arizona collared shirts ($8 each), and 2 Tap Out T-Shirts, 1 UpRoar button up shirt
One thing I LOVE about JCPenney’s is you can always find awesome deals on good quality clothing. I really think we scored big with our picks here. The biggest problem I had while shopping was trying to get Nick to understand you can’t wear stripped shirts with plaid pants.
When it was all said and done Buddy agreed to model an outfit for JCPenney’s look book that will be debuting August 10th on their Facebook page. His favorite item he picked out? That would be the ZooYork shoes, even the cashier admired them.
