This past weekend I was on a little adventure with 31 other bloggers. The adventurous event was none other then Brandcation Bloggers Gone Coastal. Thanks to the hard work of four women Trisha (MomDot), Kim (What’s That Smell?), Lynsey (Moscato Mom), and Nicole a.k.a Blondie (The Blonde Critic), who worked their butt of to secure sponsors, plan the event, and coordinate 32 women (not an easy task) the event was a flyin’, cruising, and waving success.
I finally had the chance to meet several bloggers that I have talked to over the last year, who were already great friends. I admit I was a little nervous at first flying into a city (Pensacola) that I had never been to, to meet 31 women I have only conversed with via the worldwide web. It didn’t take me too long to realize my nervousness was unwarranted. People that saw us at the resort (Portofino Island Resort) were surprised to learn that some of us had only just met that day.
I flew out Friday morning in which I was forced to fly out of Florida to Atlanta and then back into Florida landing in Pensacola. The hour flight from Atlanta to Pensacola found me flying with 3 other Brandcation bloggers. We arrived at the resort around 1 o’clock. After a quick bite to eat we suited up for what could only be described as an interesting and eventful mid afternoon at the beach participating in the Blog Olympics. Picture 32 women in swimsuits, diving into the water, running down the beach, building sandcastles, and hula hooping. I’m sure the other resort vacationers enjoyed the site. Blog Olympics was sponsored by Jambu Footwear
Check out my team “The Beachin’ Bloggers” created a one of a kind White House Sand Castle!
After our Olympic size fun we headed up to the room to dress and head out to dinner. Picture 8 women fighting to use 3 bathrooms and you can imagine the chaos. Thankfully some of the bloggers were local and were our permanent taxi drivers. Cleaned up and dressed in beach casual we headed over to Surf Burger. The staff at Surf Burger were amazing, very friendly. Waiting on 32 people isn’t easy but the ladies at Surf Burger did it with style and humor. Definitely an A + establishment. The atmosphere was fun with music and the nightlight surrounding us as we lounged on the patio getting to know each other a little more.
Belly’s full and exercise out of the way (Blog Olympics remember), the only thing left to do was to relax in our jammies and enjoy the mounds of Swag from the more then generous sponsors of Brandcation!
It was like Christmas but for grown women. Check out just some, yes this is just SOME of the swag we received (note you will hear more about many of these items in the coming weeks)
After all the excitement we headed back to our respective condos to get a little bit of shut eye before we had to rise early (6 am) to start another fun filled adventurous day…..To Be Continued.
First a personal shout out to my own sponsor Brookstone who helped me get to this amazing event.
