I enjoy wearing quirky and funny tees… you know the ones that make you stop and think or make you laugh out loud when you read them? After losing 60+ pounds, I was running short in the tee-shirt category for the summer and started looking for some new shirts to add to my closet. I’ve been eyeing several tee’s from CafePress, so when the opportunity arose to do a review, my biggest problem was narrowing it down. LOL.
One of the tees that I’ve had my eye on was the the i got your back tee. It is just funny. Every time I look at the graphic, I have to giggle. The i got your back t-shirt is made in the USA, by American Apparel, of 100% ultra-fine combed organic ring-spun jersey cotton. The American Apparel women’s fitted t-shirts fit SNUG and sizes DO run small, as stated in the product listing. The site offers sizing guidelines and says to order up a size for looser fit. I measured myself and ordered a large according to my measurements. I was tempted to order the XL, but I plan to lose another 25lb, and figured this could be a motivator. LOL. I ordered it in green, because green is my favorite color. I thought it might look good with my tan, too. While I can wear it as is, it is being added to my “in another 5-10 pounds” pile because of the snug fit. I ALMOST wish I had gotten an XL,
because I want to wear it NOW. I don’t want to wait those five-ten pounds. LOL. I would honestly say for women, if you want to wear the shirt comfortably, do the measurements and add two inches to the bust to allow for the looser fit and any shrinkage (though shrinkage is minimal, every little bit counts in a fitted tee, right?).
Another tee that I liked was the Running Dessert tee. I think the tee is hilarious. I don’t necessarily like running… but I DO like dessert. I can’t tell you how many times in my weight loss journey I have looked with longing at a dessert and asked myself, “Is it worth exercising for?” or “Is it worth running for?” Occasionally,
the answer has been a resounding yes. More often than not, the question has been enough to help me pass on dessert. LOL. The Running Dessert tee is also a women’s fitted t-shirt made by American Apparel. I ordered the aqua color, because 1) I ordered the i got your back tee in green and didn’t want two green shirts, and 2) I thought the white print provided a nice contrast on it. I was right about the contrast, heh?
I have to say that I like the feel of rink-spun cotton. It is SOFT, and it’s only been washed once. It is supposed to get softer with each washing, so I imagine I will want to cuddle up in it before too long!
I’ve ordered shirts from CafePress before and I have never been dissatisfied with the quality of their shirts. My husband still wears a shirt that I gave him over two years ago from CafePress. That being said, $26 is a lot to charge for a single color screen printed shirt.
CafePress would like to give one lucky Shibley Smiles reader a $50 Gift Certificate to select your own funny tees (or whatever else).
See Official Rules. Giveaway will end at 11:59 pm EST on the day announced above. Open to US Only.
Thank you and Good Luck!
