Am I the last mom in the world to hear the phrase “Cheese Touch?” When I was in San Diego at BlogHer I stopped by the Pressman booth and all the moms were talking about how their children loved this game. It is based on the Diary of a Wimpy kid series which my youngest son is fond of. In fact I wrote about the movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid : Roderick Rules some time ago and how I enjoyed it more then I thought I would.
Well Pressman didn’t want me to be to be the only mom to have not experienced this game. Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Cheese Touch showed up on our doorstep shortly after. The kids were psyched about a new game. So the next day we sat down and played. It was just the four of us Honey, Buddy, Nick, and myself. I think Dad was watching football or playing it on the Xbox.
We got out all the pieces and the boys worked at setting it up while I read the directions. (One part of the game the boys always wish they could skip. What is it with boys/men and directions) The directions were pretty simple and for the most part he game is directed by the cards that correspond to the space you land on. The four of us got down to business and began the “Cheese Touch”. I knew that Honey was going to need a little help with this one but for the most part she could play on her own. She only needed help with a little bit of ready and writing of her answers.
I have to say we really enjoyed the game. It was a mix of laughter, fun, and getting to know each other. There were some silly questions like how long have you gone without taking a shower or how many days in a row you have worn the same underpants. These questions are always a hit with the kids.
The night was full of laughter in fun and the game was just long enough to hold our attention. It wasn’t too short and not too long but just right. What ever you do, you DON’T want to be left holding the CHEESE TOUCH!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cheese Touch Game: Move your mover – either Greg, Rowley, Fregley, Rodrick, Holly Hills or Manny – around the game board. Depending on where you end up, you’ll be playing different categories. In Who Said What – all players will secretly write down an answer to a question like – if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Go through the answers and try to guess who said what. Correct answers move you closer to finish. But wrong answers can give you the cheese. Try to get rid of it as fast as you can. Available at Toys R Us, Amazon and Target, for 3 to 6 players, ages 8 and up.

The thing that uses the most batteries in my house is the mouse on the computer. Outside of that it seems that everything has rechargeable batteries anymore than plug into the wall (cell phones, iPods, etc).

Our daughters video recorder uses the most batteries. It is a kids recorder so it doesn’t have a charger and she goes through tons of batteries with it because she loves to use it. Thank goodness for rechargeable batteries or we’d be broke…ha!

What in your home uses the most batteries? The most batteries I have ever used on one item is a Christmas decoration. It is 4 Xmas characters with a bell in each hand, and then a remote for them. They play songs with the bells that also light up, all in synch with each other. Each item (5) requires 4 AAA batteries for a grand total of 20 batteries! Goodness, but it’s cute! Thanks!
