As techy as I am, as much as I love new gadgets and technology it has taken me sometime to embrace the e-reader. Probably because most of my book reading listening is done on my iPhone through audiobooks. This is a great way for me to relax on my way to work and enjoy a good book. However I have yet to make the switch to an e-reader when I do purchase or check out a real paper book. Part of the reason is I like to read in the bath and that is no place for an e-reader.
However this past week I have converted two forms of reading to e-reader format. I recently was looking for some children’s healthy eating books and/or recipes and really didn’t want to wait for it to be delivered. When browsing through the books on Amazon I found that there is an app for my iPad for Kindle. This means I could purchase Kindle books without owning a Kindle. Maybe I’m a little behind in the times as I thought you had to have a Kindle and was having a hard time figuring out how to use my iPad for e-reading.
I purchased two books that night The Sneaky Chef (a book to get veggies and vitamins into kids meals without them knowing it) and No Whine with Dinner. Hoping that these books can help me figure out how to make some healthy meals for my children.
This weekend I converted my print magazine subscriptions to my iPad. This was very convenient when I wanted to read while getting my pedicure. I didn’t need to bring three magazines with me just my iPad. I know have all of my magazine subscriptions connected with my iPad. I will still get the printed copy but I can now download my magazine before it even arrives in the mail and have it with me anytime I have my iPad.

I have a Nook Tablet. I would rather use an e-reader now then hold a book. I am also reading a lot more and a wider variety of topics.

I won a Nook Simple Touch from the Head & Shoulders Facebook Sweepstakes last year, but I gave it to my father. I’m more of an iRiver fan myself. I was holding out for the iRiver Story HD, but now it appears they will be coming out with something better, so I might just wait and see what happens. I’m in no rush to run out and get one because I haven’t been reading as much as I used to lately.

I do not have a reader. I sure want on though. It looks like the Nook is very popular, reading the comments below. That one or a basic Kindle would be nice. Maybe for Christmas.

I use one for books, but for magazines I’ll always prefer paper!

I just recently got an ereader, and I think it’s cool but I’m still liking my paper books. My kids have been reading a lot though, so I love the ereader for that!

I have a kindle and love that I can take it and chose what to read out of the many things I’ve downloaded to it. But I still love to have an actual book in my hand, so I download a lot of freebies and 99 cent books but still go to the store and buy a real book when I am spending more. We’ve also downloaded the thicker books that we love to the kindle, you know the ones that are so hard to hold and read at the same time.

I feel so far behind, but no, I have never used an eReader before. 🙂

I love my Kindle….I have always loved reading and wasn’t sure if I would like this but I can carry it easily wherever I’m going …waiting on a child to finish with this practice or that or even at the doctor’s office. I hope to get an iPad because I would love to convert my magazines to digital because I am a magazine junkie too!

I am actually in the same phase you were….I know that everything is going to e-reading, but I really like my paperback books. Call me old fashion. I’m a couple giveaways for a kindle so maybe i’ll get lucky 🙂 LoL

I often prefer having a real book in my hand, but I rent e-books from my local library. I can get up to four at a time and it is easier since I can browse from home.

It took me a while to warm up to my Kindle Fire, but now I would be lost without it. It is small enough to fit in my handbag, so it goes wherever I go. It is perfect for waiting rooms, or waiting in the car line at my kids’ school. I also love that I can get so many wonderful free books with it. Occasionally, I miss the look and feel of a real book, and my weekly trip to the book store- so I do still frequent them, and purchase regular books…just not as often. I might just have to try listening to an audio book sometime. The tub sounds like a great place to try it out. 🙂

Love my e-reader and iPad.

I always swore that I would never give up books….there is just something about the feel of a book in your hand and the smell of a book. But I finally gave in and got a kindle for christmas. I love it… not as much as reading a “real” book…. but it sure is a lot easier to take places – and I am the kind of person who never goes anywhere without a book.

I have a Nook and an iPad. I love my Nook. It is so handy. I can just throw it in my purse and take it where ever I want. It took my awhile to convert to an e-reader. There is nothing that can replace the feel of a book in your hands, shuffling through the pages. Love that feeling.

I’ve had a Kindle since they first came out and an iPad. I love reading books on them, but I haven’t tried converting my magazines yet. Great idea!

I am not an e-reader. I guess I’m old school in that I want to hold the book in my hands and turn the pages.
Carmen says
I don’t use one yet but I am hoping to get one. There are so many free E books you can download and it would save on trips to the book store to find a book when I run out.

I have the very basic kindle, but I have not been reading on it that much. Lately, I have been only using Audible to listen to my books.
