This post regarding my dolphin cruise is long overdue, however I’m doing my best to balance a few things here at the Shibley Smiles household. School is winding down, sports are almost over, which means less stress on me. This is going to free up some of my time to finally get a handle on my fitness routine, blog without stress, and enjoy my family. That said I really wanted to make sure I got a post done regarding the beautiful Sunday I spent during my last day at Brandcation 2012
Sunday morning we got up early and padded down the beach to a boat awaiting to take us on a Dolphin Cruise sponsored by Circle PR. Dolphins are one of my all time favorite animals. Maybe it was growing up in Florida and crossing the causeway bridge straining my neck out the window to see if a could get a glimpse of the creatures frolicking in the waves. What ever the reason I have always loved dolphins. My only regret while on this cruise was that I couldn’t share the experience with my daughter.
The day was a perfect day for dolphin sitings, with the sun high in the sky, a breeze in the air, and the waves behind us we took off in search of the amazing animals.
How could you not enjoy a day that looked like that? As much as the day was beautiful the best part of the cruise was the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend if you are ever visiting Pensacola Beach that you take the time out of your day to enjoy this fun and enjoyable Dolphin Cruise. The captain knew exactly where to take us. I’m not even sure how many dolphins we saw I just know they seemed to be everywhere. To the left, the right, in front and in back. We saw them up front as they dived under the boat and saw babies being protected by adults. The experience was simply amazing.
I could have stayed on the boat all day, basking in the beautiful Florida sun. I can imagine myself ever living in any other state. I am a Florida girl at heart and love the state, it is a part of me. As we made our way back to the shore and the beautiful Portofino Island Resort I knew that a Dolphin Cruise is now high on my list of things I want to do with my children.
Brandcation opened my eyes to new experiences and adventures that I could have only dreamed of one day doing.

So fun. After my husband and I got married we took a boat ride on my husbands grandpas boat to Sanibel Island. The dolphins were spectacular!

I took a vacation to Sanibel Island with my father once. It was so beautiful I remember it vividly. I remember getting up one morning and couldn’t find him so I walked down the beach (figured he was there). We walked down the beach together early in the morning and I remember finding a star fish on the beach.

That looks like a lot of fun! I don’t think I could get on that boat (open waters make me nervous lol) but the views would so be worth it.

I read your earlier post and I’ve been looking forward to this follow up (as we try to make up our own minds – what we want to do (ahem – where we want to go to celebrate our 20th anniversary) At first I was thinking it wouldn’t be very romantic – but I know how much he loves snorkeling and scuba diving – and we are going on a special trip to do just that next winter – so this would make for a nice little warm -up and teaser trip (we’ve got the airline miles so it wouldn’t be too $$$)
Anyway, glad you had such a fine time and thanks for sharing!
