This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.
I know the song goes, making a list, checking it twice…… but for me, I make list, lose it, make another list, check it twice, check it three times and check one more and then lose it again. Therefore I am always looking for ways to organize myself, especially in the holiday season. I came across a seasonal page on Dollar General website that is brought to you by Coca-Cola®, M&M’s®, and Campbell’s®. The seasonal page has recipes, cooking tips, holiday crafts, coupons and more, so now when I lose my list it doesn't matter I can just turn on the computer and everything I need is right at my fingertips.
I went through the site, finding some delicious recipes to make like Coca-Cola® Cranberry Chutney and Cherry Coke® Ham.
Then I came across a great idea for a centerpiece for your holiday table. You start out with any glass container like a vase or bowl and you place Christmas bulbs in each container. I thought how easy yet pretty and colorful. So I set out looking around the house for items I could use to make a centerpiece. I found a large glass bowl, some small colored bulbs and a bag of snow. (I know some of you are saying a bag of snow, really? But remember I live in Florida, it is the only winter wonderland we get.) I put some of the snow in the glass bowl, put a (battery) candle in the center, added some of the small colored bulbs around the candle and made a bow around the bowl with some ribbon I found.
Since it was so fast, easy and fun I decided to fill up a couple other containers to put around the house.
I want to make the Coca-Cola® bears with my granddaugther "Honey", she loves to draw and create things.

I’ve actually made a craft like this with plastic Christmas balls…I put them in a clear jar that’s shaped like a Christmas tree!

I like how there are a few different versions, so you can tie a room together with them
Connie Thompson says
Thank you Robin, when I started looking for containers I was surprised at how many I had just sitting around to use, even flower vases would work.
Ty @ Mama of 3 Munchkins says
These turned out beautifully and I’m especially liking the taller one.
Connie Thompson says
If you are talking about the one with the lid, I bought that for my shells but it seems whenever I get the time to go shelling there are not many shells so it was perfect to use for the Holidays.

Very pretty and not so huge you cant see anyone or pass things! I like DIY centerpieces much better than store bought.
Connie Thompson says
Now I never thought about that Ellen but you are right when we have Christmas dinner it will not be in the way. I always enjoy making my own decorations instead of buying one already made but just like these I get an idea from one that is made and put my own taste into it.

Gorgeous! I love how fun and simple they are, yet still so festive! I have not ever heard of bagged snow. 🙂 I live in Ohio, so we have snow, and I’m not sure there is a large market for bags of it.
Connie Thompson says
I am from Michigan and when I moved to Florida the thing I missed most was at Thanksgiving you had the windows open so you couldn’t smell the Turkey as much as you did up norht…I didn’t miss the snow so I am happy to buy bagged snow and decorate with it….lol
Theresa says

Cherry Coke ham sounds interesting. Growing up, I remember my mom used to always use a can of 7up when baking our ham.

That is such a cute idea! I like the ribbons, what a perfect finishing touch!

I love the artificial snow used in that capacity. I usually just have some sprinkled around our Nativity scene. But this is a great use for the rest of the bag.
Connie Thompson says
Yes and easy to pack up in a baggie and save for next year.

We have a dollar store within walking distance and I haven’t checked it out for festive items I can use for projects like these. I have lots of glass containers I can use so bet I can make something impressive for the season, and on the cheap too.
