One of the things that make my iPhone so useful and fun is the awesome iPhone applications you can purchase for it. I have no idea how many I have on my phone at present but I just downloaded a new application called Evie. I was actually surprised the application was free. It is a new voice command activated application. What I like to say it is like SYNC but for your phone not your car.
Here is how it works. It has several features but two of them a TRUELY love. One is the ability to make a call hands free. To be fair you do have to open the application and tap the screen but from there you just tell it what to do. You can tell it to “Call” Mom. As long as there is a “Mom” in your phonebook it will call her. Or if the person is not in your phone book just tell it what number to dial. There are three commands you can use “Call”, “Play”, “Find”.
My second favorite features is the Facebook feature. Yes I said Facebook, Evie will actually read the post from your facebook wall to you. What is so great is that when Evie reads to you she adds feeling and emotion. There was a post that was read and you could almost here the excitement in Evie’s voice as she read it. That just tickled me!
The “Find” feature is pretty cool as well. You can tell Evie to find the nearest gas station, or find Outback. From there you can either call them or get directions. How awesome is that?
The “Play” feature allows you to listen to anything on your iPhone. Play list, songs, audiobooks, etc.
I downloaded the application and there is nothing to it. No long setup process. There is a welcome screen that pops up!
Then a quick couple second tutorial on how to command Evie. It really is as simple as talking to your phone. This is a wonderful tool for us busy mothers who are always on the go and need to be hands free. It is especially great for hands free driving should you want to call someone. Actually this is good for just about everyone!
I mentioned above this application is FREE you can’t get any cheaper then that. If you own an iPhone I suggest you download it and play around with it what can it hurt?

Thanks for posting this! I think this is a neat app. I'm always on the lookout for apps that help me as a working mom. By the way, if it's alright, I'd like to recommend one of my current favorite apps, Intuition. Tagged as mom's personal assistant, it's a task management app that has many features designed to help us moms. It's really easy to use and it looks cute, too. Plus, it's free!
