I was recently given the opportunity to give Furniture Fix a try. I had seen the infomercial on television and thought this might help us with our sofa. It is a good 6 years old and just isn’t what it use to be. The truth is we really just need a new set, it is just not at the top of my list of things I want to spend money on this year. So I thought maybe the Furniture Fix will keep it going a little longer.
The first thing I will mention is that it is super easy to install (for a lack of better word). The pieces just slide right together and then you just put them between your cushions and the sofa frame. You can see how easy it is right here.
When I put the sofa back together I asked both my husband and my son test it out to see what they thought. As I suspected my son really had no clue. My husband did say he felt a slight difference. The reason I believe the difference was not noticeable enough is in order to really get the full effect you need enough units to cover your entire sofa. For a full size sofa judging by the photo above I would say you need at least 4 units. I would guess three for a loveseat and probably one for a normal size chair or recliner. Here is a before and after photo with my son trying to sit in the same position to give you an accurate representation.
The company representing Furniture Fix did offer me additional units to see if that made more of a difference however I declined. One of the reasons I declined is I found a piece of the frame inside the sofa is broken and is causing a sage right in the center of our sofa. I do not believe Furniture Fix can solve this problem nor should they be considered not to work because of this problem so I decided to decline the extra units.
So what are you saying is my review of this product over all? My opinion is the product works slightly and does cause a small amount of support however for $14.99 per unit with the need for 4 units I don’t think I would purchase this as a fix for my sofa. Now what it might be better for is purchased when you get a new sofa to help keep the sofa in good condition.
Shibley Smiles Review Opinions:
Price: At the price of $14.99 we feel this would be a decent price to fix a chair, however with the need for a good 4 units for the sofa we do not feel the price is worth the small change.
Quality: The Furniture Fix has no issues with quality however we do not feel it supports like one would think.
Recommendation: At this time with our experience we do not recommend the Furniture Fix as something to fix your sofa but feel that it may be worth using with new furniture to help keep it in good condition longer.
