So out of a need to grab lunch quickly for ourselves and the kids between soccer and baseball today we stopped at McDonald’s. Determined to make a healthy choice I ordered for myself a plain grilled chicken sandwich with apples. The girl seemed a little flustered by my sandwich order so I double checked and was a little upset that instead of charging me for a grilled chicken plain she charged me for a chicken club plain. So she charged me an extra .40 for the club fixings and then said plain.
Yes I complained out of principal charging me specifically for the extra’s then taking them away (but not the charge). I asked her why she charged me for a club and then said “plain” versus charging me for a classic chicken and then saying “plain”. She had no idea what I meant. I explained to her and another employee that got in on the conversation that it didn’t make since to charge me for the higher priced sandwich that was higher prices SPECIFICALLY to add bacon, lettuce, and tomato, and then say don’t add those. Just charge me for the regular chicken sandwich and minus the lettuce and mayo. (I guess in the future I will know how to order it).
So they gave me back the over charged amount. I finally got my order and we took off for the baseball field to eat and wait for the game to start. When I opened my grilled chicken sandwich guess what stared back at me.
That does NOT look like a grilled chicken sandwich to me. SIGH! I guess that is what I get for complaining. I was so mad that after all that I didn’t check the actual box to make sure my sandwich was right. I don’t really like the crispy sandwiches from McDonald’s, so my husband took the sandwich and instead I ate one of his wraps.

grrr! that is soooo frustrating!!
I’ve had stuff like that happen too, and heard some interesting stories from friends.
And yet I can’t give it up!

I am a junk food junky and I hate to even admit that!

Ohhh I really dislike McDonalds, ours never gets orders right! I do love Culvers though, I don’t know if there are any where you live, but the food is so much fresher, and a little healthier I think…don’t quote me on that though. I know I have been bad about commenting, but I have been reading, you are still in my email in box every day and I look forward to it! I passed on 2 awards to you today if you feel like picking them up you can, if not thats fine too, no pressure. 🙂 Hope you are all having a great weekend! I am jelous you are in the 60s and we are at 21 with lots and lots and lots of snow right now, ish!!

I love Culvers too!

I’ve never heard of Culvers, funny how things are different all over the place.

Sounds just about like any trip to McD’s here. I always order the same thing, double cheeseburger no pickles add mayo, shouldn’t be too hard right? Well a good 90% of the time I end up with a plain burger. Once I even got just burgers no bun, no cheese, no toppings. I gave up and went to Wendy’s.

I’ve had similar experiences at a fast food restaurant. So frustrating! At least you h ad something else on hand you could actually eat.
Sometimes I think it’s easier to run into the grocery store and grab a pre-made wrap for lunch. Trader Joe’s in particular has some yummy ones.
Colleen says
It would probably be better for you as well.

I hate mcDicks, Hubby has that happen to him alot with Mayo. He hates the stuff and everyone always puts it on things and here he is having ot go back three times till he actually gets one without it lol!
Colleen says
If I’m going home I will usually return if they screw up my order because they are a minute away. This time I was at the ball field. I was must upset because I was trying so hard to eat good.
Kecia says
Ugh, that would be frustrating! Ours is horrible about requests for “no tomatoes”. 90% of the time, there’s a big fat tomato slice on my chicken sandwich when I open it at home. :/
Colleen says
Oh a tomato slice on my chicken sandwich would have totally grossed me out! I hate tomatoes more then anything. And when you take them off the juice and everything is still there. YUCK totally agree!

This is one of the many reasons we don’t go to McDonalds. I cannot remember the last time that we ordered there and had the order correct, even when I ask for something simple like a chicken nugget kids meal. Also, don’t ever try to get soft serve ice cream at the McDonalds where I live. The machine seems to be always broken.
Colleen says
Oh yes I never order shakes seems like they are always saying that. Or when I do order one (for my son) he likes vanilla and it always looks like a mix of vanilla and chocolate. I always hand it back and they say that is how it comes out. I tell them if they can’t give me a PURE vanilla shake then give me my money back. Some how they always manage to come back with a vanilla ONLY shake.

That’s about what I expect from fast food places anymore. These cashiers just can’t seem to use their own minds and figure out what needs to be done to help the customer. I’m glad your husband was willing to switch with you!
Colleen says
I remember when I use to work at Taco Bell we had to actually count back our cash no register to tell us what to give back. It is scary to think so many people now a days can’t do this.

I went to McDonalds the other day and was very disappointed. It took SO long for my Shamrock Shake. Come on people! The place was practically empty. Get with the program. Also, an earlier customer forgot their food and they did not seem to care. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
Colleen says
On a side note how did it taste? I’ve never had one.
Kristie D. says
It was delicious!!!! I love them. But you can only get them around St. Patrick’s Day. Boo! But I suppose that’s good because I would probably weigh WAY TOO MUCH otherwise. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.

I hate when that happens too 🙁

I get so aggravated when I go to a fast food place and then get home to find out my order is wrong. Most of the time I check before I leave but it never fails when I don’t check something is wrong with the order.

I stopped going to McDonald’s a while back after seeing all the pictures I just can’t do it!
