I have a love/hate relationship with all things scary. I love Halloween and all the gore and scare, but I hate scary movies and being scared! When I’m watching a horror film and the music starts getting creepy, hinting something scary is on the way, I cover my face with my hands or a blanket and then peek to see what’s happening. Ok that is if you ever catch me watching a horror movie which is not often. I’m perfectly ok with hiding behind somebody walking through a haunted house too. That being said, I enjoy scaring other people. Seems a bit contradictory, right? Well what can I say? Even when I was younger, I loved sitting around the campfire and telling spooky tales. My oldest son and I are always trying to scare each other.
Best Buy has created a variety of scary pranks for people to pull including ghastly mirror tricks. They all look fun, but I think my favorite would be the Skitter and Scare. With a little help from technology and some inanimate objects, you’ll have people jumping out of their skin when they see things slide across the table or floor on their own! For those of you that are especially into pranks, you can up the scare factor with other props such as a mannequin. This is my kind of scare, it is fun but not terrifying.
Halloween Pranks
To pull off this prank, you need an app-controlled robot such as Sphero. Sphero is a ball shaped smart toy made of a high-impact polycarbonate shell, making it extremely durable. It connects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, utilizing an arcade-style game controller function that allows you to twist, tilt, and maneuver in new ways. It’s lit by multicolor LED and actually gets smarter the more you use it. While that would be fun enough, imagine placing a popcorn bowl on top and watching your family’s face as you secretly control it across the table! Use wireless speakers to add ghost sounds or screams! I think it would be so much fun to put a robot inside those plastic orange Halloween buckets and move it around outside when trick or treaters are at your door. The wireless speakers would add a lot of fun to that as well.
Be sure to watch the other Best Buy pranks for inspiration this Halloween.

I have ro admit I am not much into pranks anymore. I think te idea is fun, but as old as I am it would be too scary.

First I’d have to get the technology, which I probably won’t, so none for me, thanks.

Times have sure changed pranks. I remember TP’ing people’s houses.
