A couple weeks ago I shared with you our Lorax lawn beautification. Basically what that means is Honey and I planted us some flowers! I thought I would update you on the process because I can say with 100% certainty I do not have a green thumb. I was not sure how our planting, feeding, and watering was going to turn out. I was hoping for my daughters sake we would see some progress. Here is the before photo of one type of flowers we planted.
We have been watering them a few times a week but I think we may need to water them daily. Our sprinkler system here has not been working for about 6 months and my landlord still has not gotten it fixed. We have had little to no rain and the leaves appear to be burning some from the Florida sun. Here is how they look today.
We also planted another ring of flowers around a similar tree. I do not have a before a before photo because there was nothing but dirt when we took the before photos. Here they are today, they are suppose to be a bunch of purple flowers when they begin to bloom.
Honey also picked out one food, her choice was watermelon. I’m hoping that we can get at least one watermelon out of our patch but I know nothing about how to take care of them above watering them. We started out with six different pots of watermelon. When we planted them outside we planted five. After everything took and began to grow we ended up with three of the six. Do you like our cute pine cone fence? We had to do something so the lawn people didn’t mow down our watermelon.
So do you have any gardening tips for me? I can take as many as you can throw at me.
