If you are new today I’m sharing what I have learned thanks to other bloggers/friends and my own experience.
Earned Income from 1/1/2011-2/15/2011 (1 1/2 months): $1,212.90
Realized Income (money I have received): $980.99
Today I’m just going to hit a few places that I enjoy that are good resources. As well as places for reviews and giveaways. I did receive some questions about reviews and giveaways. This is a way to earn from your blog just not monetary. However some of the products I have received have been WELL worth the time invested to review.
Before I get into reviews and giveaways I wanted to high light a fun survey place. I’m not a survey person they take too much time to earn pennies and points. Time that I don’t have.
This is an easy and none time consuming survey site. You are paid $1 for each survey you complete. Surveys usually take me about 10 minutes. They so far have been tied to new and upcoming products which I find fun. I have seen them do a review before. I passed on the item. I noticed when I went over to grab this button they now have an additional profile to fill out for product reviews so I’m eager to see how that works out for me. So far I have $8 in my account and you can cash out at $20. This is a VERY simple way to bring in a little cash. I believe the surveys you receive are based on the profile information you submit.
Reviews and Giveaways
I’ve had people ask me how to get into doing reviews and giveaways. First I can not stress enough that your first priority and main task should be in writing good and interesting content and building your traffic. You have to show companies that your blog is a place they want to be. I strongly urge you to try to converse with your readers as much as possible, this helps build a loyal readership.
Once you are ready to begin trying to get reviews and giveaways you will need a way to record your stats. I’m not going to go into a lot of detail because that could be a whole other post. I recommend that you install Google Analytics and Stat Counter on your blog. This way when companies and firms ask how many visitor, unique visitors, etc you have the information handy. These tools serve as more then just visitor counts. I suggest you learn a little about them as you are able to tell how people get to your blog, where they land, what pages are popular, what keywords are being searched that bring people to your blog, etc.
As for getting your reviews there are two main ways to do it. One is a cold pitch which means you find a product and site you like and you pitch them. You explain what you can do for them and tell them why they should use your blog. Plain and simple, don’t make it too long but market yourself.
The second way is to join the vast number of forums that contain useful information such as pitches from PR, a place to promote your giveaways, etc. In addition there is a number of sites that are strictly review/giveaway oriented. I’m going to list the sites I myself use below. I hope this gives you a head start. Many of these forums will have information posted to the for reviews/giveaways, sponsored post, and even advertisers looking for ad space. They can be extremely helpful.
I hope you have enjoyed the past 5 days. This is all information I have collected over the past 8 months in my blogging career. All this information can be found on the internet I’ve just compiled it in one place to help you get started. I am in no way close to the status of some really great and large bloggers, but I enjoy my little piece of the net here at Shibley Smiles!
Good Luck to you All!
