The company I work for has two company events a year. One usually takes place in June and the other in December. These events are a way for the company to come together as one and mingle. With offices all over Florida it is fun to get together and meet and talk to everyone.
The events are usually pretty fun and lately have become more and more unique. My first company event when I was 4-5 months pregnant was bowling. Since then we have been on a boat cruise, to a comedy club, enjoyed an in house casino night, and just recently an afternoon of Croquet.
Being a HUGE fan of the beach, paradise, and tropical scenes I fell in love with this restaurant immediately. It was like walking into a tiki hut on a tropical beach some where. Mai-Kai restaurant has been in business since 1956 and is a Polynesian treat. We had some good food, (I really enjoyed the salad dressing) and some fun entertainment.
The company of course provided their own entertainment in the form of a company Family Feud in which our table came in second, a hula hoop contest in which when I managed to get to the finals but was outnumbered by more skilled hula hoopers, and a limbo contest which I decided to watch instead of participate.
The event was fun as they always are and ended with an exciting Polynesian dance show. Seriously I want to learn how to move like those Polynesian woman. One of the best parts of the show was the fire dancers. Just amazing to watch. Here is a video from the Mai-Kai site showing you a little bit of all the dances compiled together. The fire dancing is near the end.
I really had a good time and would love to go back with my family I think the boys would love to see the fire dancers.
