What is one thing that any parent or doctor will tell you to do with your children? The answer is read! This is advice that everyone usually agrees on, reading to your child at a young age introduces them to so many things vocabulary, language, and creativity. Tricky Stories has created a cute fun toddler app to use their imagination and creativity to tell their own story with the Magic Castle App for iPhone and iPad.
Magic Castle App
I was given a code to for then Magic Castle App and I downloaded it to my iPhone though I think the experience would be even better on an iPad (just because it is bigger). Picture a setting of medieval times when the country was full of knights, kings, queens, and princesses.
Now that you are there, in the medieval times, it is up to your child to create their own story. They can swipe the page to the right to move through the forest, over a bridge, and encounter animals. When they click on the animals the animals become animated. For example, there is a sleeping owl in a tree that when clicked will open one eye. A bumble bee will buzz through the air on your child’s command. Fruit will grow and fall from trees and they will encounter a winding river through the scenic forest.
Much like a sticker book or colorforms (if you are old enough to remember them) your child can change out the characters and items in the story to tell their own story. As you see above this is the story as it began. I took all the stickers away to begin our own story.
In our story it is a special day, it is the princesses birthday! Her father the king has decided to throw her a fun party with all loyal subjects and forest creatures to attend. However an awful creature, the dragon, is threatening to ruin the day by trying to capture her beloved pet frog. Thankfully a knight in shining armor was just down the road and came to rescue the frog and save the day.
What is so fun about this toddler app is that your child can create story after story of fun. There are several stickers to choose from. Simply click on the photo and a bar will appear in the right hand side.
There are so many options your child is only limited by their imagination. Another fun feature that your child is sure to love is the camera feature. The camera is located in the top left corner at all times. Your child can capture their creative moments at any time. All they have to do is click the camera and the photo is saved instantly within the app.
The photos can be admired and looked at, at anytime from the home screen of the app, which you can get too by clicking on the round purple button in the right hand corner. My suggestion on how to use this app for more then entertainment is to have your child create their story and then tell you the story just like they were reading a book. As a parent I’m sure you will be amazed at their creative and sometimes outrageous stories your child will create. Just imagine the fun and possibilities!
Magic Castle was just released on iTunes today for $1.99. To see the iPhone and iPad App in action you can check out the Tricky Stories website. You can also follow them on to keep up to date on any updates or new apps that are created.
