My daughter can not wait for June 22nd. You may be wondering what is so special about that date. This is the date that the great Brain Chase begins! Kids all over the world will be spending the summer having fun and looking for buried treasure. That treasure it the Sunstone of Cortes.

Video of How to Make it.
Ok let me back up and tell you a little about Brain Chase if you didn’t see my earlier article on this unique and fun way to keep kids learning over the summer. Brain Chase is a 5 week program in which students register for and participate beginning June 22nd. Each week they will have weekly challenges to complete in reading, math, writing or language, and a special bonus challenge. Children can learn at their own pace but are not allowed to advance until the next week begins. This gives each child ample time to get through their challenges and guess where the Sunstone of Cortes is buried.
The first student to locate the Sunstone of Cortes will be flown to the location to dig up the treasure and earn a $10,000 scholarship. Your child is given a chance to locate the Sunstone every 24 hours by submitting a guess on a map. Clues to where the Sunstone are hidden are in the weekly videos and challenges. If you would like to see the dashboard in action Use the new dashboard demo for a hands-on look at Brain Chase. You can interact with last year’s dashboard for detailed explanations about how kids’ work is tracked during the program’s five weeks.
Brain Chase Partners with Rosetta Stone
Brain Chase is proud to announce a few new additions this year to the curriculum that gives you even more flexibility.
New partnership with Rosetta Stone. All Brain Chase registrants will now have the opportunity to choose to participate in a language module as part of their online academic work. The language module, if selected, will replace the writing module. Students will be required to complete 2 lessons (a total of a little over an hour) each week in order to fulfill their language requirement and unlock the next episode. Students will be allowed to choose from 30+ languages when they register, and will have a week at the beginning of the program in which to switch languages if they prefer. Rosetta Stone will be part of the all-inclusive pass to the best online curriculum providers that comes with Brain Chase registration.
I love this additional opportunity. I was hoping that my daughter would consider replacing the writing with language and preferably Spanish. However she enjoys writing, and since this is her summer vacation and she is choosing to participate and is very excited I’m allowing her to make her own choices. However if your own child is more interested in language this is a great chance for them to learn in a fun setting.
Brain Chase Teacher Referral Program
Who better to take interest in Brain Chase than teachers. I’m sure they would love nothing more then to have children continuing to learn over the summer break. The great thing about this program is that it is fun, which means even though they will be learning and keeping their brain active they will still be enjoying their break from school.
Teacher referral reward program. Brain Chase is offering $15 to teachers for each of their students they refer to Brain Chase. Registrants who hear about Brain Chase from a teacher can simply enter that teacher’s name and school name at registration. Kids fight summer brain drain to win a treasure… and teachers win too!
I have sent an email to my daughters teacher to let her know about this program because I believe many parents would be interested in signing up their own children. If you would like to get your teacher and school involved you can download the flyer below by clicking on it and give to your teacher or school.
