Honey has recently been set up with a fun new service called >Kiwi Crate. Until recently I had no idea such a service existed. Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription service in which a box of crafts is delivered right to your door step. For busy mothers this is an awesome service. If you spend a lot in a craft store like I do this may just be a discount. My daughter adores crafts. She is constantly asking to visit the craft store. However I admit I often run out of ideas when it comes to “what to do”. Kiwi Crate takes all of the thought and time needed and packages it in a cute green box and delivers it right to your child.

Open the crate and let the fun begin.
We received our first box a couple of weeks ago and Honey couldn’t wait to crack it open. So we did just that and found this months theme was Busy with Bugs. Each box revolves around a theme from bugs, dinosaurs, pirates, color, and more. Something to spark your child’s imagination and get them thinking about the specific theme. Learning and creating all at the same time!
Each box is filled with the needed supplies to complete each project. Each project comes with an instruction booklet on how to create the project. This is great for children, my daughter is very rule and instruction oriented and loves to have a list of “how to” when it comes to making something.
We decided the firefly project sounded fun. I read the directions and Honey completed each step. She loves it when we work together on projects so though I believe she could have done most of this project on her own I did it with her to enjoy the time with her.
When the firefly was finished it looked cute but what made it really cool was what it did. You place a small glow stick into the firefly and place a string through a small draw placed on the fire fly’s back. The kids and I went into the garage and each child held an end of the plastic like string. We shut the lights off and in complete darkness each child held up their end of the string so the firefly could “fly” to the other child. The glow stick the only source of light. The children found that they could have some fun by twirling the firefly as it glided to the other person and it looked like a real firefly. (I really wanted to get some video but it didn’t turn out well at all.) Even my 15 year old son thought the craft was pretty cool.
I really love the idea of Kiwi Crate and a box of crafts delivered right to my door. You can also give Kiwi Crate as a gift.
Gift Subscription
Select a subscription length of 3, 6, or 12 months. Shipping is free. Each month, we’ll send a themed crate filled with art projects, science experiments, imaginative play, and more. We’ll provide all the materials and inspiration so the lucky recipient can just open the box and enjoy!
Or you can purchase Kiwi Crates for a party. I think this is a wonderful idea. I did something similar for one of Honey’s birthday parties and the children loved it. In addition to picking your themed Kiwi Crate for your party you also have the option of picking out the color of your crates to match your party colors.
Party Packs
A special mini version of our crates for a distinctive favor or a creative party activity. Buy in quantities of six or more – mix and match across projects and colors.
I also love visiting the Kiwi Crate Blog there are some great activities and ideas for the summer. I highly recommend this service if you find yourself looking for things for your children to do, spending hours at the craft store or internet surfing for something fun to do. Let Kiwi Crate do all the work for you so you can instead enjoy doing the actual craft with your children.

How cute! What a great idea! They have snacks that can be delivered to your door and now a crate of craft items! In the winter, it would be great to get these items delivered when the kids are in the house!

I had never heard of this service before reading your post. I shall have to speak to my friends and ask them if they know about it. It seems ideal for parents who like crafts for their kids.
