Another not so stellar baseball game yesterday. I feel so sorry for our Marlins little league team, they are having such a hard time getting it all together. This comes after a two game winning streak. Unfortunately we lost this game 13-3 when it was stopped during the bottom of the 5th inning with the mercy rule. The mercy rule states if any team is up by 10 in an inning after the 4th inning the game was over.
Our boys were trying don’t get me wrong, in fact I think some times the adrenaline just took over as we over threw the ball a few times. Or just had too many wild pitches. Despite the lost Nick did pretty good. He was 2 out of 3 in batting which is pretty good for him. He is trying to improve his hitting this season, and his dad is working with him on switch hitting. He is left handed but he bats right handed, my husband is trying to help him learn how to also bat left handed. He is great as a first base man and even managed a double play Saturday.
Surprisingly I was able to get one of his hits on video. Excuse the fence it is hard to video tape behind the baseball fence. Usually when I try to video tape him batting he either is walked or struck out, this was the first time I got a hit on video.
Buddy’s last soccer game was this Saturday. His team has not played well, unfortunately for them they didn’t win one game this season. My son was so sure they were going to win this last game. I so admire his spirit and confidence even after such a season. They didn’t win but they did tie and he did a great job our team dominated the ball for most of the game! Next season will begin in August and will last a little longer. Here is hoping for a better season.
I had to do some shopping for presents for men (my men of course) this Saturday. Mainly for Nick who’s birthday is Tuesday. In addition to his birthday presents he is having a birthday party this coming weekend. So wish me luck with a house full of 10-12 year old boys. I may never be sane again!
